Changing an Email Adress

Apr 12, 2008 17:28:29 I went to change my email address in the forum settings and it gave me this:

Changes you make to Edit Profile or Edit Avatar after Sept 24, 2007 will not be reflected in your migrated Gleemax.com account which will debut in early October. We have disabled Edit Email during this same period of time in order to prevent accidentally locking out users from their accounts during the migration. If you have a critical need to update your email address on file, please contact [email]boards@wizards.com[/email].

Apr 15, 2008 13:28:21 A good safeguard in the future, should you need it:
Send a PM to somebody relatively high up that you're going to be changing the address, and are worried about getting locked out. Tell them to expect an email from you, then send them one from the account you're changing to.

Then, if you get locked out, send another email from that same account to the same person and ask them for help. You will have a paper trail showing that, at the very least, you had access to both the email account being changed to, and the board account.

Not full proof, but it does help build the "No, I'm not some random guy trying to hack this account. I emailed you last week about being afraid I'd screw this up, and I did." case for you.
