#1 lost_in_thought May 03, 2011 15:07:35	I have tried finding the Code of Conduct on the forums, but the only link I have found seems to be broken. I am hoping one of the mods may be able to answer my question. I was considering posting a stat block for an NPC on the forums, however that stat block contains information from printed materials. I know that many members post the character creator clipboard information on several forums (char opt and char dev specifically) where in the abilities are listed i.e. Ranger A has abilities X. While there don't seem to be any specific problems there, if I posted an ability and listed the abilities effects, i.e. Ability X does Y damage to Z target(s) and causes this effect. would it be against the CoC or ToS? Would this be any different if I were to post a stat block saying an ability does 1d6+3 damage instead of [W] + Dex modifier? (all the stats, etc. are taken into consideration rather than just the effects as one would read them in the books)
#2 Mad_Jack May 03, 2011 19:32:35	Unless you're regularly posting whole sections of text from the books, nobody's going to set your head on fire over it... If you look in the rules Q&A forum, you'll notice folks regularly posting rules text and copying the text of powers in order to accurately debate them... I wouldn't worry about it too much.
#3 Duskweaver May 04, 2011 1:02:48	Posting the statblock for an NPC or monster that you have created yourself should be fine. I and others have done just that many, many times over. Posting the statblock for an NPC or monster that you've taken directly from a D&D book and not mofified yourself is more problematic. I would personally not do that. But what exactly is it you are wanting to do? Your question is pretty vague. ETA: If you want to discuss an individual power or ability from an official monster/NPC, just post the text of that power, not the whole statblock.
