| #1Nemo_the_LostOct 27, 2008 9:46:56 | I have only a few minutes out of every day to browse the forums and respond where necessary. I understand the need for some specialized forums in the D&D Fundamentals section for those people with more specialized interests (like the class forums and Char Op), but I have a broader interest and just don't have the time to scan them all. If something is posted in General Discussion, I'd like to request that it stay in General Discussion, even if one of the many other forums in the section would be better suited to its content. Can we please keep General Discussion inclusive rather than exclusive? I would be greatly appreciative. Over the weekend I lost track of a lot of threads I was posting in. |

Can we please keep General Discussion inclusive rather than exclusive? If they did that, they might as well dump having separate forums at all. Having an open forum for topics that don't fit anyplace else is a good idea, but it shouldn't be the first one because too many people simply dump their topic in the first forum they find where it might fit. What I would like to see is get General off the top of the list. Q&A or an introductory forum should be first. General gets way to much that should be someplace else because it's the first. Jay |

| #4AaronOfBarbariaOct 27, 2008 10:33:01 | They should either stick with how they are doing it, and move everything to the appropriate sub-forum - or just cram everything together into as few forums as possible, which would cause threads to be lost almost instantly to page 2 and beyond, never to be seen again. If you really don't have the time to open up and browse each forum, which tabbed browsing is great for, then where did you find the time to create this complaint? |
| #5kalakaOct 27, 2008 11:55:07 | /veto -- I'm in favor of moving the threads to the "right forum". If they really want to get fancy, enable "shadow posts" ability -- whereby an original link to the moved post stays in the forum it was originally posted in. But give forum members an option to "hide" shadow posts, so that those of us who LIKE the movement of threads to the right forum don't have to wade through the mass of noise in the General Discussions forum. |
| #6ArtifactOct 27, 2008 12:06:59 | Any threads I'm interested enough to follow, I subscribe to. Then, where ever they end up, I can find them quickly and easily by visiting my subscriptions page. As someone who typically only has a few minutes each day (or so) for browsing and posting, I agree it's easy to lose track of things. I've added a bit of complication to my normal routine however. I've recently started visiting another board as well (less time for each now). I'll see how it goes, maybe picking one over the other, eventually. |
