I am surprised to find no thread about Game Day. Did anyone else here run or play in the event? I got the opportunity to play and it was tons of fun. It was only the second time I had gotten to play 4th ed, since I haven't had a gaming group for like 5 years. It was a good group of people at the store (which I located using Wizards' map).

I played the Dragonborn Paladin. Some of the stuff I was able to pick out as being from Divine Power and it was kind of cool, but I really wish that they had made him a Goliath Warden instead. I'd have rather had it be all PHB2 classes. Everyone really had fun with their classes.

I don't want to spoil much but some of our highlights: We took a prisoner in the first encounter. The barbarian managed to carve off 1/4 of scruffy's HP in one shot. That's a LOT. In the second fight we took a little time to get over the "Oh S%%T!" when we started getting blasted but we pushed through. I think we met a variant of Chris Perkins' little chompy friend that he sent after Acquisitions Inc. This time the avenger got the biggest shot in on one of the little red bastards. Crit with a +3 Falchion. 100% to bloodied in one shot.

This was as far as we got. It had been a little over 4 hours by this point I think. Everyone made it out alive though. Nobody went down. Good times. Good fun.

You could try 4th edition general discussion.

This thread has a number of responses leading up to and maybe some after the gameday:

D&D Gameday is just around the corner I wanted to remind people to check out the game day page and find your nearest Game Day location using our store and event locator!

There's going to be sneak peaks of all sorts of things, such as the new classes and races! Here's an excerpt from the Game Day article to wet your appetites:

This thread has a couple pages of responses:

I don't know about you guys but there was a lot of confusion here in Indianapolis about who was running D&D Game Day at what stores. A lot of locations were listed on the WOTC website but when I contacted the stores most of them did not know what I was talking about. I found one store that was hosting it but the guy who ran the store said they were just hosting and he knew nothing else about it.

So, instead, I stayed at home and played with my kids. They rolled up characters and we played the adventure "Beneath the Village of Harken" in the DM's Book that came with the D&D Starter Set. We had a blast!

So how was D&D Game Day for everyone else?

There might be a few more but that is for starters.

Oh. Being a Wizards sponsored event, community business seemed the logical place. I checked general but didn't see notice any current threads. Must have missed that one. Thanks.

It was all 4th edition material and it was to 'celebrate' the release of the 4th edition PHB2. I believe that is why it was in the 4th edition general section.

Anyway, I can see why it would fit here too.

and...

You are welcome

Since the event was run through the RPGA ordering system and had a huge crossover with the same DMs and organizers who run regular RPGA events the discussion seems to have ended up there.
If you swing by the RPGA General forum there are a couple feedback threads going on. There was also errata compiled there before the event for the messed up character sheets. We have also started a couple threads looking over the May gameday.
