If you go beyond the first page and want to read something later than the last page you will likely still get the problem as the reply only collects the last page plus a few posts. What needs to be done is someone actualy fix the showthread.php series of processes to remove this problem as well as the lingering problem of CSS errors causing blank pages. |
| #3GardeviorJun 17, 2008 17:05:00 | Alternatively, you can view the archive and not be able to post. I'll add that in next time this happens. :P |
| #4hellmuteJun 18, 2008 6:16:29 | Seems the problem is even worse today than is has been before. Only problems are ever dealing with the showthread.php script though. This one seems to be based around recording whether you have viewed the new post or not instead of the normal WotC default CSS. |
| #5acrindJun 18, 2008 7:11:38 | um. if it's a database error then it's in the SQL and probably not in the php. |
| #6hellmuteJun 18, 2008 7:15:13 | I still blame the whole vBulletin system. I have never seen this many problems with with PHPBB. And the funny this is that it only has the problem with the showthread script. We can easily reply as we are doing now, just not actually view the thread. So the database is fine, which means the problem is something to do with showthread.php. If the database was messed up then we wouldn't be able to do anything at all, not even view as we reply. |
| #7tmerrenJun 18, 2008 7:57:51 | Thanks for posting this work around. |
| #8epochgamesJun 18, 2008 8:26:32 | The announcements show fine, because they're not using the showthread line. Would it be too hard for an announcement with the workaround to be put up? |
