Do we Still Need a Stickied Thread About Forum Leads?

Nov 18, 2008 8:54:45 Some (but not all) the forums with forum leads in it have a stickied thread about the forum lead program. We were told to post it by Gamer_Zer0 back when the program began. Is that still needed?

I ask because we are only supposed to have three stickied threads in a forum, and that thread eats up a valuable slot. All the forum leads have a reference to the forum lead program in their sigs. It seems to me that should be sufficient.

Nov 18, 2008 16:25:29 IIRC, the official Forum Lead program is defunct now, replaced with Forum Guides.

Nov 18, 2008 16:30:21 Does that mean I'm not a Forum Lead anymore?

Nov 18, 2008 18:19:05 Officially? Probably, yes, though you'll want to talk with Webster about it, since this is his area.

However, since the Forum Lead position was never really anything more than an arbitrary designation, pointing to certain people and saying "these people are good people", with no official responsibilities, no special status, and no extra abilities, the difference is really moot.

The important thing is not the title--which was always meaningless in and of itself--but the role you play in the community, which hasn't changed, and won't unless you change it.

Nov 18, 2008 20:22:32 I don't see any reason why forum leads can't continue to do what they do.

(Besides, they help me out greatly!)

As for the sticky threads, we probably don't need those anymore.
