Apr 06, 2009 12:53:41 So what's with the forum crapping out more than usual lately?

I've been getting white screens like crazy. I've got to hit refresh three or four times just to follow a forum link. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that the fun fun craziness that kills our subscriptions just struck again too; the latest subscription I've got is from February. I know, that'll be fixed, but what's the prognosis on the forums getting back to their usual level of inoperability?

I could only go to the Wizard's Community area and there was nothing in it...

It is something like this:
Cache gets corrupted.
System thinks you do not have subscription/access to see whatever you are currently viewing.
This happens for any thread or forum you wish to go to because it is all corrupted.
Whatever that means.

Yeah, I've seen THAT thread. It only addresses half of my post; the subscription issue that we've all become numb to already. I'm more concerned with having to refresh every page one to five times in order to get it to display anything other than an albino ghost in a snowstorm. I'm sure I'll come to accept it as the WotC status quo in time, but in the interim I'm going through the motions of caring, reporting it, and hoping it gets fixed.

Apr 06, 2009 20:21:25 -The forum subscription cache things are Vbulletin problems. The skin (and content) not showing up is also a Vbulletin problem. You'll notice that neither was a problem for a while, and both suddenly became problems around the same time fairly recently again. They're interrelated.

Just to note, I decided to keep trying until I was finally successful yesterday. I don't know how many times I kept hitting refresh on my blank screen before I decided to exit, try again, and start counting. After twenty refreshes, I exited and tried again. After twenty refreshes, I exited and tried again. Then I tried a multitude of times without using refresh. Then I tried again and hit refresh 35 times. Still no success. (If you could not tell, I was bored for a little while...This might have been Sunday rather than Monday...)

(Perhaps a new tactic is in order...)

Yes, but up until a couple of days before, hitting refresh a couple of times would let you see the public profile page. Now, it is hopeless. It simply does not work. Before, other things worked sporadically.

Apr 21, 2009 22:12:24 I've been having a lot of blank white screen during the last day or two while trying to view a profile. I think it was either last night or very early this morning that I noticed that the profiles would not come up no matter how many times I refreshed.

It is something like this: Cache gets corrupted. System thinks you do not have subscription/access to see whatever you are currently viewing. This happens for any thread or forum you wish to go to because it is all corrupted. Whatever that means.
