I think it would be beneficial to have a separate forum for Living Forgotten Realms for reviews of adventures (one thread per adventure), in a similar way as the Dragon/Dungeon article feedback forum. while the forum may not have huge traffic, it would be very useful for the Writing Directors, and possibly people who seek to DM modules. Many players try to avoid spoilers for modules, and a section where GMs could review/discuss adventures before running them and/or get feedback from players that have already been through a module would be a nice split. As it stands, we can do that in the base LFR forum, however it leads to long threads full of sblocks - not something that leads to easy reading (or replying for that matter). So, as the RPGA VCL I'd like to voice my support for this request as well to help facilitate in-depth discussions without having to expose players who haven't been through a module to potential spoilers. |

| #6timlagorOct 18, 2008 14:02:42 | I'd like to see this. I'm also going to reiterate my strongly held opinion that requiring a high level of board traffic before allowing sub-fora is an extremely poor decision: many of these threads are useful to be able to find and read easily (without guessing what terms to search for) even if they aren't getting much (if anything) written in them -and readers won't necessarily want to add anything. A requirement for high traffic volumes is just a requirement for extra noise. |
| #7matteblackOct 18, 2008 18:10:41 | I can see where the feed back and reviews would be useful but, it raises the question of whether it might accidentally become metagaming resource on the official site. I know on one of the yahoo LFR lists, there were strong opinions either way on whether the players wanted to allow a spoiler library on that lists site. This would probably stop a few steps short of that but, the spoiler/metagaming issue should at least be considered. |
| #8timlagorOct 18, 2008 19:16:23 | If they had a sub-forum there would be room for spoiler and spoiler-free threads. You can'd discuss them properly without spoilers and anyone who wants spoilers can just download the mods anyway so there's no point getting overly worried about them reading threads that are clearly marked as continaing spoilers. |

One issue that some are concerned with was the appearance of encouraging the pre-scouting of modules for item drops and such. I am not overly concerned but, feel this is a good place to raise the question for consideration. If looking ahead into spoiler lists is a practice the campaign does not condone, the appearance of the official forums furthering it might be something to be avoided. |

Should we get the sub-forum, it shouldn't be hard for us - the community - to define what is/isn't acceptable within that forum for spoiler information. RPGA staff (Chris) and LFR Admins would also have a lot of say over what we'd be allowed to disclose and what we couldn't. It would then be up to the forum VCL (currently me) to help enforce those guidelines as they (probably) wouldn't be CoC violations, but simply editorial violations. Or so I forsee it, anyhow. |
| #11gomeztooOct 19, 2008 4:58:11 | Adventure feedback would generally not be about treasure anyway, except to point out issues such as what happened with SPEC1-1 (preview of a magic item changed so much it had to be replaced). |
