Great, I like the forum better: Races, Classes, & Powers.

I was just thinking yesterday, WotC should probably combine the Magic Spells which are powers, with Fighter powers. In other words, combine classes with powers and feats.

To combine classes and races seems fine too, since racial traits are also in units of powers and feats.

Hmmm ...

The forum seems to move awefully fast.

Thoughts?

I think that the forums should be divided like so:
  • Races
  • Classes, Feats & Powers
  • Treasure, Rewards, Rituals & Magic Items
  • Monsters
  • Rules

Why are powers and magic not together?

Why are powers and magic not together?

Incredibly good question.

I don't know.

I would go:

  • Races, Classes, & Powers
  • Feats, Rituals, & Magic
  • Treasure, Rewards, & Items
  • Monsters & Encounters
  • Characters, Adventures & Campaigns
  • Rules
  • fo diggity

Races have powers associated with them, so I wanted to get those together.

Shouldnt Powers and Feats go together, since theyr the same thing?

Feat = Power lite

Magic is either spells (powers) or rituals (treasure), so seems not to need its own catagory.

Rituals are treasure?

Feats should probably go with powers, yes.

It seems that, if they really want a forum that contains everything that allows your character to do something, it would be the:

"Classes, Races, Powers, Feats, Rituals, and Magical Items" forum.

Fodigg: Rituals are treasure?

Apparently, rituals are treasure.

They remind me of the old tomes, like Manual of Dexterity and so on.

A ritual is a recipie that you get as treasure. The ritual has various components, that must be performed. Its sort of like a scroll that doesnt "vanish", after cast. Hopefully there are many different kinds of rituals, ranging from meditating under a banyan tree to mixing eye-of-newt in a cauldron. But basically, the ritual is valuable info that one can find and collect.

Heres a list of various topics to consider when dividing up the forums. Each forum must get a reasonable amount of traffic.

Brainstorming:
  • Races (Traits, Powers, Feats, & Ability Score Generation)
  • Classes (Features, Powers, Feats, Skills, Rituals, & Tiers)
  • Economy (Treasure, Magic Items, Mundane Items, Services, & Rewards)
  • Monsters & Immortals
  • Campaigns (Cosmos, Setting, Arc, Adventures, Quests)
  • Encounters (Rules for Combat & Social Encounters)
  • Official Rulings & Errata

Anything missing?

Changed my mind. Combining Race & Classes into one forum creates way too much traffic.

That's pretty good.

Actually I'm curious to see how much that specific facet of the change can cut down on the ludicrous dragonboobs threads.

There's a thread for this here.

If you don't post there, your concerns won't be read.

In [post=15920836]this post[/post] and [post=15922497]this post[/post], Gamer_Zer0 set forth the criteria that Community Management is likely to use when determining whether a forum needs ot be merged or split. In essence, they will be looking at the number of active threads/day on a weekly basis in each forum. An "active thread" is a thread that has received at least one reply in the last 24 hours.

Take this as you will, but my advice?

Post! For the love of Bahamut, post!

But whatever in the Nine Hells you do, do NOT spam!

Don't you see? If you contribute to the busyness, then the forums will eventually split!

Yes, I believe it's 50 active threads per day will convince them to split them.
