My problem was I couldn't read any thread I posted in (but ONLY after I posted in it today), so once I created this thread I couldn't read it.
Kind of defeated the whole purpose, know what I mean?
At least it seems to be back to normal, which isn't all that great, but at least its working.

This way, when the server times out, or crashes, or just gets hungry and eats my post, I drop it into Notepad and post it when things are back to normal (which is usually immediately, when I try a second time).
Its still gets me once in awhile, though, when I forget to Copy first...

Its going to take them awhile to sort out whatever mess he had created for them over the last year.
I'm not one to usually defend WoTC, but this is something they didn't foresee - that NO-ONE could have foreseen.
I have them too. As an IT developer I always wonder at the quality of the personal they have.
As an IT developer you should know that you have three options when making software respectively offering a service: "good, cheap, on time - choose two of these".
And considering we all know that the forums never have been a high priority for the WotC suits (need I remind you on the search issues from years ago?) we should be glad to have somewhat working forums at all, especially since maintaining forums and a database of this size is all but trivial.
But I'm sure you'd rather have something like ENworld where you had to pay for search. I'm sure there would be no outcry of nerd rage if WotC would make us pay for their forum service.

In my corporate experience, as little as it is, usually the guy in charge of a dept. is the only one who really knows whats going on in the dept. We do not have all the details, but an individual that spent MOST of his time stalking his estaranged wife probably wasn't 'minding the fort' all too well, if you catch my drift.
What happened last week was a VERY unfortunate and sad end to a series of on-going events, and we really don't know just how much he had the rest of the company 'snowballed' for the past year.

Tough luck when your client doesn't grant you enough resources (time and money) to do that.
For a very good example on how the client can cut short the developers, take a look at the lousy ending of Knights of the Old Republic 2.
Lucas Arts wanted to put the game out before x-mas, and therefore the developers didn't have enough time to finish the game as planned, being forced to instead place a cut short ending (which is painfully obvious in the game).
What a developer wants to do, and what he is actually able and allowed to do withing the client's or contract's definitions are very often two very different things.
The only company I worked for that gave me less than minimum required equipement for the job was forced to find another one to do the job after I quited.
