#1 biggiemac Mar 21, 2008 16:03:56	Ok i have a question i have been playing D&D for a little bit now but i do believe i have an amazing idea but i have no idea if it would work ok so here it is could you technically make a half-human half-illithid fighter and still get the extra human feat? because that would be the sickest fighter ever think about it for your feats you could take improved unarmed strike, Improved grapple, and something like like improved multi-attack. and then take a war mace as your weapon that would be an amazing fighter capable of doing major damage and extracting brains.
#2 cifer Mar 21, 2008 17:41:15	While I believe there is such a thing as a half-illithid template somewhere (though I'm not quite sure where it is...), it would be far less amazing than you make it out to be - templates like half-whatever pretty much always stack on a level adjustment, meaning your first level fighter human/illithid would likely be counted at least as a fourth-level character and would have to hold his own with other 4th level characters. Add to this the fact that illithids reproduce asexually, so there are very few ways to get such a creature and it's not exactly an idea as great as you think it is...
#3 biggiemac Mar 22, 2008 17:54:34	Thanks for replying and i did find the half-illithid template it's in the forgotten realms: under dark book i unfortunatly forgot to look up the ECL , however i think the spell like abilities for them far make up for there disadvantage in battle for instance it would not be hard for you to hit your enemy with a mind blast and then make use of your tentacles while they are stunned and from there improved grab would be quite useful (they get it automatically) so really you could kill something very fast in up to 2 rounds and once again the War mace is quite handy. It also would not be very hard to make such a creature if you use your imagination for instance a high level wizard could be experimenting trying to make the ultimate body guard or a evil deity could create such a thing, something along those lines. The only major flaw i see with this character is if you go up against an undead creature especially a vampire because the psionics and the brain extraction would not work but hopefully you can rely on your adventuring party.
