I couldn't find the forum where this post would go, so the mods may move it if they deem necessary.

Anyway, I downloaded (two different ways) the November Errata update, the pdf file.  However, every time I try to open it, I get the following error:

Failerror

And then it opens, with dashed lines instead of text for powers, magic items, etc etc etc.

How in the Nine Hells can I fix this?

Is your Adobe reader current? In another thread, some people who were having this problem said it went away when they updated Adobe.

I would suggest checking to make sure that, like the poster above said, your copy of Adobe is up-to-date. If you are using an older version, it may not be able to properly render/draw the symbols/tables/images used by WotC.

I updated my Adobe, and same problem.  Any other solutions?

Best bet is to try re-downloading the file, as your copy may have been corrupted somehow. Failing that, contact WotC CS and ask for help.

If you are comfortable with sharing your email addy, PM me your email address, and I will send you a copy of the pdf that I downloaded and can confirm works on my computer.

As an alternative to Adobe for Windows, there's Foxit. It doesn't have quite all the functionality of Adobe Reader (especially not v8 and older - Adobe Reader 9 got neutered of some features) but it's fast and displays the errata for me without trouble.

If you're opening directly from the website (through the plugin) I also suggest clearing your browser cache. A reboot might also be useful (since you're updating software).
