May 25, 2013 18:55:16 You might want to add SoDs and Pernanent Level/Ability Drains to that list. They inevitably turn into a "some gamers just want to play the game on easy mode" vs "arbitrary death and annoying bookkeeping are annoying not flavorful" argument.

But if I would agrue with John_Bigboote on a topic, it most likely to learn what type of playing
he prefers then trying to prove mine is better. Once I understand him, I might be able to find
some common ground between us.

Cinematic and narrative. Something that D&D has never really done well before. This is why I get frustrated at the design moonwalking back into the 80's, and the posters who gnash at the teeth at the very notion of change and evolution.

Cinematic and narrative? Could you show a thread or an example what those threads usually
turn into?

May 25, 2013 19:37:28 I react because I keep seeing my favorite edition trashed, insulted, with the players taking a hardline stance against it to the point where I feel the need to defend it because of their potential misinformation, to outright lies when it seems like they havn't even played it, not to mention some which are just outright insulting the players of said Edition.

Also the Warlord has been declared a subclass, so it doesn't even have a chance in order to become a Main Class.

Also I keep seeing this Disassoctive term thrown around alot, to the point where it's less used in context, and more as a diss for an edition.
