| #1stupidquestionNov 02, 2014 1:08:16 | I posted yesterday a thread, asking if and to what extent one might expect wizards of the coast to use the content of published material as "political commentary". To explain shortly, if e.g. wizards would write "Furthermore, being good certainly excludes obviuosly evil acts like calling abortion murder/performing an abortion." ("/" since i am not to insinuate what is actually the "evil" option), then this would be an obvious commentary upon the political topic of abortion. And i would like to know, what to expect from wizards stuff in terms of political commentary.
But for some reason the thread was deleted.
Now it could be:
a) A hot and incivil debate happened (though the issue i mentioned there wasn't abortion, it was nonetheless something often leading to heated discussions), hence some mod deleted the entire thread. Thats fine and in that case, i am free to try to start a new thread with similar question, just have to word it in some way to avoid incivil discussions.
b) I mentioned another company that does use its material for political commentary inentionally and mods do not like talk about that company. Then i could reframe my question.
c) Problem was my question. In that case i should not ask it again.
So how to find out, why it was deleted?

Typically, there is supposed to be an email to the user that explains the violation and reason for deletion.
In the case of your post, it's that politics are pretty much off-limits because their discussion can easily lead to harsh feelings.
In the specific case of your post, and this post, you brought up issues with statements phrase in such a way that they can make other posters feel harrassed, since this is a gaming forum and not a place that such statements aren't entirely off-topic for and they aren't expecting to find that stuff here. |

And the answer is that if WotC makes any political commentary it will be to the level of what they have done in the player's handbook (which is to say its there, but doesn't take center stage) and will be a stance that is inclusive and supportive of the largest customer base because WotC has no reason to alienate potential customers (though can't stop them from alienating themselves if they so choose). |
