Two questions for anyone with power that reads this: 1) Isn't it still against the CoC to have a smurf that references (or *is*) your banned name? 2) What's the general turn around for having a thread cleaned up and restored. The original Motivators thread should have been cleaned and unlocked by now. There was exactly one one peson disrupting it and all but one of thier posts in that thread are gone now anyway.

It's obvious that the material in the thread was provocative and thus the thread needed to be locked to prevent further issues. An idea: Have a motivators thread for each of the subforums, like monsters motivators and magic/equipment motivators.

What happened, in both cases, was one poster who felt that they were unfairly moderated and decided that since their posts were removed they should keep reposting the same things over and over again, until the threads were locked. In the case of the first thread, they even mocked attempts to ban them by CM.

It wasn't the material that offended the poster. The poster continually broke the CoC simply because material that was reported and deemed inappropriate by CM had been removed. The thread was closed not due to offensive material, but because the poster instigated an off topic flame war. That's even what the Wiz0 who locked the thread said.

No matter how innocuous anything is someone somewhere will be offended. If each and every poster had the power to lock any thread that they where offended by then the boards as a whole would be locked. Of course what keeps people from acting offended just become another disagrees with them.
