Sorry WotC, but these new forums or whatever you want to call them are just too painful to read. Too much white space, threads I have read highlighted in bright fuschia? WTH? I close my eyes after looking at a forums page and have retina burn and a headache.
In addition, the way sub-forums are currently listed makes it extremely difficult to find what I am looking for.
I did not ask to Beta test your half-butted attempt to create whatever you are attempting to create here. If you want me to test it for you, first you should ask me and then pay me for the trouble of finding all your screw-ups.
I enjoyed the old forums. They were easy to read and navigate. Simple, yet functional. What we have here is a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". The forums wern't broke, so why did you try to fix them?
For now at least I am migrating over to enworld. I'll check in from time to time to see if you managed to get things fixed. If and/or when that happens, I might come back, but for now at least...

Probably a wise idea. ALthough the ego-boosting farewell coupled with attitude tends to be a testament to character. Be careful with such things. Pretend the internet isn't anonymous.

Me on the otherhand, I preffer the Beta, as it gives me something to use plus also allows me to offer my personal feedback in order to help develope the community how I'd like to see it. there is no assurance that anything I offer will have an impact, but I like the idea that it may.

I don't get what you're defending here. Are you saying WotC only has one server? Nobody forced WotC to take the old forum down at all. Any professional administrator would have left the old board up and put the new one up as a separate, public beta. With a VM, you don't even need new iron, just some spare storage and processing power. Only when the new system works flawlessly you start to migrate. System Administration 101.
WotC screwed this up, there is no denying the fact. I'll keep looking here maybe once per week if anything has been fixed. So far, it's still atrocious. I just tried to send someone a PM but it didn't work because he's not on my friends list or something.
I'll be at Enworld and rpg.net until all issues here are fixed. I don't have bad feelings against WotC as such, it's just that my time is too precious to put up with this.

Seriously this is just the latest in a long line of screw ups by WotC, I'm seriously getting tired of funding incompetence.
I like the new forums, I'll like them even more when they finish refining them.

To reiterate what I said in a different thread, there is a world of difference between baseless whining and making constructive criticism. Saying "THIS FORUM SUCKS, BYE!" is not constructive. How does wizard's know what to fix?

So which of your 4 public blogs of yours presents specifics? the one that asks people to vote on their opinions of WotC executive decisions or the "I was in error" one where you claim even you could have done a better job setting this site up (It's clearly not the character builder pole or Gleemax is gone one). Ether way, I don't see a single specific, only complaints ("I could have done better, even then" is not a constructive criticism).
I actually like this new site.. the facebook/myspace thing, it is ok.. neither here or there. I do like the groups pages, they are very cool. The forums them selves make it very easy to report the trolls ;) , and they are easy for me to read.
So over all i like them, i don;t think they are any better or any worse than the gleemax boards, excepts for the groups feature.. i freaking love that!

If you are giving specifics, assume I wasn't referring to you. I'm only referring to the people who are complaining and not giving specifics.
Also, if you spread this stuff all over the forum, it makes it really hard to collect this data and act on it. Wouldn't it be much easier for everyone if you reported bugs and requested changes in the appropriate place and left it at that?
Anything more is either working off of the "squeaky wheel" theory which makes you kind of a jerk or you venting which I don't really need to read.

I've been busy pimping the Stylish script in my sig to fix problems like the OP describes (like the annoying whitespace and tiny default font).
If you're leaving, my favorite RPG place that's not here is EN World. They have a soothing black background with calming yellow highlights. Just one dude's opinion though.

No, I just type at 90 WPM. I rarely have time enough to take my dog for a walk, or catch a movie. I only watch TV while I'm eating a meal. My life is cluttered with college and work, and family obligations.

Wait was that a personal attack? You do know those are against the Tou/CoC right?
Just so you know, my calling in life is apparently to find things that are wong and to fix them. Thus I mention what is wrong with WotC and then how to fix it. I perform exceptionally well, since there is no way to judge that either way, it must be that you are assuming that I don't. I also have 3 years of college and a computer roleplaying game under my belt to show that I have the skills.
As to attitude I would have a positive attitude if I were working for WotC. I don't exactly have a negative attitude, on the other hand I am simply identifying problems with WotC and their products. I don't hurl insults, I don't non-constructively criticise. I relay information about how a product can be bad or unbalanced. Simple as that.

I technically didn't apply directly as there were no internships available. I did however make it known in a forum thread that was being posted in by some of the IT employees. I would still gladly move to Washington and intern with WotC. Heck they might think about it for no other reason than to get me to shut up.
