| #1FoxfaceJan 09, 2013 15:30:24 | ...because, seriously. I have been poking around on the forums recently, and Wrecan hasn't said a single thing that hasn't made me want to immediately post and say "Yup! This right here. +1 one million times. Right-on, Wrecan!" This is getting ridiculous. We didn't always think alike on the 4e forums (at least from what I remember), but so far on the playtest forums? It's like I'm in lockstep. It's honestly getting a little bit weird... |
| #2JenksJan 09, 2013 15:31:26 | Wrecan and Foxface, sitting in a tree... |
| #3wrecanJan 09, 2013 15:34:02 | ![]() Thanks, foxface. Please don't stop posting. I need to agree with someone too! |
| #4FoxfaceJan 09, 2013 15:39:04 | Wrecan and Foxface, sitting in a tree... Oh, if only...[sigh] |
| #5wrecanJan 09, 2013 15:46:43 | Next time you're in the New York area, look me up. We've got plenty of trees for sitting. Don't think my wife would approve of the rest of the song though. |

| #8JenksJan 09, 2013 15:59:27 | I'll bring my dice! |
| #9wrecanJan 09, 2013 15:59:47 | Let me know when to expect you! |
| #10GEBELLJan 09, 2013 16:38:15 | I would second this. I know others would too. Wrecan really took up the burden of defending bounded accuracy in a cogent and logical fashion, which is very much appreciated. |

| #12wrecanJan 09, 2013 16:41:32 | I luv ya, mand! |
| #13wrecanJan 09, 2013 16:43:52 | Also, as much as I enjoy the compliments, I'm asking the thread to be moved off the Next forum as its's sort of off-topic. |
| #14Mand12Jan 09, 2013 16:46:21 | I do think the folks here get a wee bit too concerned with on-topicness. Community topics are good everywhere. But hey, I don't write the rules. |
| #15wrecanJan 09, 2013 17:02:25 | I'm mostly making the request to shore up my entirely well-deserved reputation for superhuman levels of modesty. Don't tell the others. |
| #16beldinmeJan 09, 2013 17:43:39 | Maybe we could turn this thread into a "why I agree with wrecan's assessment of D&DN" which could cover "reviews" of some of his comments. I would like to point out that I appreciate wrecan's general atittude. Given how much nerdrage (including my own) there is on these forums, he's remarkably polite. I would also like to point out that even when I disagree with him, I can understand and appreciate his position. |
| #17YouKnowTheOneGuyJan 09, 2013 17:58:12 | This is how the wizards forum-poster spotlight thing should go. I don't always agree w/ Wrecan, but I do his arguments are strong. I tried to do a world's most interesting man reference. K'Failed. I do like beldinme's suggestion. Apparently this just happened in the world of Wrecan... According to the latest playtest: Also. Dice? |
| #18beldinmeJan 09, 2013 19:17:13 | Thanks YKTOG (sorry in advance if you don't like the acronym)! That's a good example. I like his comment about shields and I really like the idea of just giving a "cover" bonus for a shield instead of having to micromanage direction. In real combat (reminding everyone that DnD combat is not real from a medieval perspective or any other) people are typically in motion and the shield is directed towards what is preceived as the greatest threat at the moment. Of course shields can also be used offensively in combat, particularly if they have that spike in the middle that you see on some actual shields. I just prefer to have two-handed or two-weapon fighting and not worry about it. It's not like I'm actually trying to simulate medieval combat with spells more powerful than modern explosives (at least portable ones) thrown in. P.S. I really like your qoute from Mearls in the sig. I've noticed that in a lot of venues e.g. people claiming that X said Y and that Y is imbecilic when X actually said K. |
