| #2celloshaneAug 13, 2009 21:11:41 | That's suprising good news! Ok, apparently I missed the part about an entire week. Are you guys trying to kill me? Without the forums I'll be forced to do actual work at my desk. |
| #3ekioAug 13, 2009 21:14:52 | Cool beans. :D |
| #4lord_karsusAug 13, 2009 21:44:20 | -Not cool...What am I going to do for an entire week!?!?!? -This is not a happy 'announcnemt'. :P |
| #5HaldrikAug 13, 2009 22:04:38 | U guys make me so curious! |
| #6scipioAug 13, 2009 23:25:06 | A whole week without the boards? Thankfully there's facebook, or I'd probably die of boredom. I'm on here almost constantly when I'm at home. That said, the new features sound good. |
| #7pigknightAug 13, 2009 23:47:41 | :O I'll have to work! |
| #8DeathMutantLivesAug 14, 2009 0:14:44 | I thought this was a joke due to the spelling of the thread title. ![]() |
| #9IluvrienAug 14, 2009 6:45:06 | A week? Ouch. Aren't most of these features similar to the ones that the Gleemax community was supposed to have all those moons ago... |
| #10Seeker95Aug 14, 2009 6:59:39 | Sweet! I'll be able to meet my work deadlines finally! |
| #11Mr_MiscellanyAug 14, 2009 7:30:46 | I'd hoped that WotC had gotten over its crazed let's-be-myspace-and-rulz-teh-internetz infection. Guess I was wrong. |
| #12_jayne_cobb_Aug 14, 2009 8:17:25 | GLEEMAX 2.0 Be afraid…be very afraid… |
| #13DargurdAug 14, 2009 8:47:05 | Phew im away all week on business - well planned WOTC now i dont need to worry about missing anything !:D |
| #14gabe1k_dupAug 14, 2009 9:49:14 | Sweet, now maybe they'll get rid of the login every two weeks issue. |
| #15tiamatthedragongodAug 14, 2009 10:34:31 | maybe they'll get rid of gleemax all together.... ![]() ppffffttt... yeah right! |
| #16Seeker95Aug 14, 2009 11:21:40 | maybe they'll get rid of gleemax all together.... Part of me hopes not, only because most of the corporate filters classify wizards.com as a game site and block it, whereas gleemax.com doesn't fall into any of the filters. At the hospital this past weekend (emergency appendectomy), I could hit the Boards but not the Website. |
| #17ElectricbeeAug 14, 2009 12:21:23 | agreed on the gleemax bypassing the filters of the corporate man. |
| #18Nai_CalusAug 14, 2009 14:47:29 | -Not cool...What am I going to do for an entire week!?!?!? Seconding this. I may have to start reading Candlekeep more than once every three months. (I don't generally read it because I already keep up with too many message boards as it is.) |
| #19serrated_soldierAug 14, 2009 14:51:58 | You know things have gone downhill when they can't spell "Announcement" correctly. |
| #20CoarseDragonAug 14, 2009 15:34:36 | That's suprising good news! Ok, apparently I missed the part about an entire week. Are you guys trying to kill me? Without the forums I'll be forced to do actual work at my desk. Ack! Me too. Really good news though.:D |
| #21Vilnias_NastavnikAug 14, 2009 16:03:50 | Quick question: What about those of us who have trade treads for the minis, we rely on the PM's to notify shipping numbers and the like? Is it only the threads, or can we not access any part of our account? |
| #22RUMPLESTIXAug 14, 2009 18:41:07 | Part of me hopes not, only because most of the corporate filters classify wizards.com as a game site and block it, whereas gleemax.com doesn't fall into any of the filters. At the hospital this past weekend (emergency appendectomy), I could hit the Boards but not the Website. The NMCI filter classifies the boards as a gamesite, I think. ![]() I don't think it will even let me look at individual posts. ![]() |
| #23thakowsaizmuAug 14, 2009 20:36:46 | What ever happened to the good olde message board? Why do we need to keep updating and adding in "cute" little features that noone really needs? ARGH! RAR! ANNOYED! |
| #24xxphilosopherxxAug 14, 2009 23:26:22 | What ever happened to the good olde message board? Why do we need to keep updating and adding in "cute" little features that noone really needs? We also have no need for microwave ovens or computers, but some people find them convenient. ;) I think a blog could be nice, because i usually have far too much to say, once i start talking. Friends lists would make it feel more like i'm talking to someone i know than a random stranger. I would think of these "'cute' little features" as welcome additions to make my stay a bit more pleasant (, assuming they're arranged nicely and i don't have to make a 5-click transfer and 3 additional logs-in to get to each of them). |
| #25DiamondfistAug 14, 2009 23:34:40 | Seven days without forums makes one weak. :D |
| #26mnemonicsvAug 14, 2009 23:46:01 | Blogs, groups, invitational calendar... sounds like the new features might have the potential to give Obsidian Portal a run for it's money. |
| #27jlaurhughes_dupAug 15, 2009 0:51:29 | While it is annoying that I wont be able to peruse the forums for an entire week, it really wont kill me. I've gone longer without it. I do have many projects to work on. Maybe I will focus on one during this announced week of down time. Edit: And I will fight even more with my w key, heh. |
| #28ace_of_timeAug 15, 2009 10:13:26 | Are we going to have to reactivate our accounts agains like in the Gleedays? I heards that that caused a few problems with accounts? |
| #29myt3m0w53Aug 15, 2009 10:54:23 | Hmm groups, Calenders, friends lists... man those people in the PbP games are gonna actually be able to have a coherent game now!! Just so long as I don't have to keep signing in!! I am on these boards like 12 hours a day, can't get enough for some reason(calls doctor and gets new appointment for med increase)!! Hope it works out well... ahh... less than 3 days!!! |
| #30xxphilosopherxxAug 15, 2009 12:56:10 | Seven days without forums makes one weak. :D Nice... ![]() |
| #31DiamondfistAug 15, 2009 18:27:06 | Thanks for the , xXphilosopherXx. I appreciate it! My first one! |
| #32matukalAug 16, 2009 12:28:27 | So I'll just be reading the Something Awful forums more. No biggie. |
| #33trappedsliderAug 16, 2009 18:13:41 | Michelle if you could please come down to the D20 modern area and explain to that the D20 modern forum will not be deleted during this upgrade i will write you into my will or send you a nice meat basket or osmething... |
| #34mnemonicsvAug 16, 2009 21:59:55 | I wonder if the updated software will allow us to maintain threads with more than roughly 1000 posts without hiccups (without having to lock/restart such threads)? |
| #35GalaGalaxiaAug 17, 2009 9:06:05 | I also wonder if all the links will be messed up again. I assume that links to threads will remain EXACTLY as they are today, or else that all links will be SAFELY and ACCURATELY updated in an automated fashion. |

| #39tiamatthedragongodAug 18, 2009 9:22:45 | I also wonder if all the links will be messed up again. Or what? |
| #40tiwaztyrsfistAug 27, 2009 17:20:41 | Testing, Testing, Does this work now?
Edit: Shoop de Whoop! It works! Huzzah! |
