Is anyone else confused by the forum organization?

Maybe it's just the formatting with half the forums having little pictures that don't really evocate their subject. I'd think all having pictures (of the same size) or not would make legibility better.

Some threads have the old ampersand red and blue and some have little papers with red circles on them. A unifying use of symbols across all the forums would make things less confusing.

Now we have 8 character building, optimizing, developing. Is optimizing an important thing in 4e? It was very important in 3x, I understand, but I thought this was one of the big advancements in 4e was to reduce the need to optimize your "build".

The previous editions and OOP forums have been jammed into one and now only really make sense for 3rd edition not for all previous editions. It seems like having a the forums split out by edition might be a better idea at this point.

I dunno, it just seems like a big mess to me right now: visually, organizationally, etc. I'm sure it's no small task supporting the massive and varied community that makes up D&D, but I have to believe the forums can be better done than this.

I couldn't agree more.

General

Rules

Character Optimization

Help for Players

Help for DMs

That's all it needs. It's hard enough to keep a thread on one topic, much less assuming that every player will know exactly where to post their thread.

Agree.

Clarity and simplicity would be much appreciated. I'm not where stuff will be posted so I am checking more forums.

Wait just a minute....

this forum is for Dungeons and Dragons?

I thought this was a Dating and Dinner forum....

no wonder, no one has responded to my repeated requests for a date to get to know them better.

sad,

I have recommended that this thread be moved to the D&D Community Business forum, where it is on-topic.

You may have just inadvertently supported the OP's point.

Read this. Too late for some things, but hopefully not for others. Also check the CB forum at the very top of the page about Forum Descriptions, splitting and merging forums, etc and make the voice of the actual community heard, rather than letting R&D make all the decisions for the forums!
