| #1wrecanApr 20, 2011 8:40:10 | I think it is. Lots of forums get no activity, which means nobody goes to them, and the cycle gets worse. Show The turnover times for the forums (i.e., how quickly a thread drops off the first page) are:

| #42MysteriaApr 24, 2011 17:44:12 | Can we actually use that sort of layout anywhere? (Btw, and yes, I'm nitpicking here, but, imho, better to point it out right away instead of finding that the errors didn't get fixed: Your naming convention for the forum groups links is inconsistent. Play-By-Post Haven has lost the 'Haven' part of the group name. Core Coliseum (also misspelled) is also a group, but not called group, same Living Forgotten Realms. I'd suggest either adding group to every group, or just drop group from each one.) |

| #44wrecanApr 28, 2011 12:35:45 | there is likely a forum reorg looming in our future Hooray! |
| #82HuscarlAug 22, 2011 15:51:56 | The General forum jumping around has nothing to do with forum reorganization. The people who manage the tech side of things here have been playing around with something, I'm not sure what, and that experimentation was responsible. We are looking at reorganizing the forums, and we're using the outline generated by this thread as the starting point. Our next meeting on the subject is this Wednesday. When we have a proposal to show, we'll start a new thread for it. We have no intention of just dropping a reorg here and expecting everyone to swallow it. We'll gather comments and make adjustments based on your feedback before anything is cemented in place. FYI, my leaning is toward reducing the number of forums by consolidating those with similar focus and/or lower traffic, and probably reducing the number of higher-level divisions as well. My viewpoint won't necessarily prevail, but that's the one I'm going to push unless I get the impression that it's not what people here want. Steve |
| #83Plaguescarred1Aug 22, 2011 16:04:24 | Thanks Steve for coming forward. So its not a reorg and they messed up huh ? ![]() I am with you on this. I'd prefer have less Forums and more focus so i am all for consolidation. Exemple would be to consolidate the 3 Forgotten Realms into one, or the 2 Eberrons etc.. |

My viewpoint won't necessarily prevail, but that's the one I'm going to push unless I get the impression that it's not what people here want. In the absence of having the ability to sort the forums the way I want to (which I woulr really prefer), this is exactly what I want. |
| #85wrecanAug 22, 2011 16:42:24 | Thanks for the update, Steve! I'm glad that General being moved to the top wasn't part of the reorg. Give 'em hell at the meeting! |
| #8618DELTAAug 22, 2011 17:15:52 | I have been asking for the Realms Forums to be merged to to the low traffic for around two years... |
| #87mudbunnySep 02, 2011 7:20:13 | Also, this site became very non-user friendly. I can't even figure out how to put up a signature. You would think it would be under the section of "edit profile". At the top of the thread, click on "preferences". When I click on forums, it does its stupid category stuff, then I have to use my deductive reasoning to figure out which forum blocks would sub the FR forums. Where back in the day, I could simply just see the "FR Forums" in plain view. Forms -> D&D Scroll down to D&D Worlds Expand the section if it is collapsed Click on the FR forum you want to read. |
| #88wrecanApr 21, 2012 8:26:06 | Happy one year anniversary to this thread! |
| #89frothsofApr 21, 2012 8:31:28 | yes it is time for a celebration of the most unnecessarily bloated forum in the history of the internet may all of your billion sub-forums stay superfluous! |
