Ive currently have my password set to expire every 2 weeks. The last two or three days every time I open a new thread, or forum I have to log in again. This sometimes means that I don't know exactly the last thing I read was, which can be frustrating. I will typically have 3 - 4 tabs open to make the load rate not bother me as much. But this new glitch is starting to bug me.

Anyone else having this problem.

I as well. Either I have to keep hitting refresh and wait to be logged in again, or I have to close all browsers, delete all stored files, cookies, ect., then log in again. Then it'll just happen again within a minute or so.

Yeah, I just had to do the same. At first, the login screen wouldn't even appear. After I deleted all my cookies, etc it did. Then it wouldn't show me as logged in until I refreshed a couple of times. Wasn't the last downtime supposed to have something to do with the account management system or something? Looks like it may have done more harm than good ....

Same problem here. I could only log in through the main site; if I click on the log-in button on the forums, nothing happens.

I keep getting logged out in the middle of posting. It's a bit of a hassle when you type out an idea and it gets lost during the relogging process.

Ah, thought it was just me . . . no, scratch that. I knew it was the forums being screwy again. Still, for once, I was kinda hoping it might just be me :P.

It's been on and off for me. I'll close my browser and when I come back, I'm logged out.

It sometimes takes two to three attempts to get logged back in.

Mine was a very odd experience. It's been logging me out a lot, so instead of bothering to sign back in every time i wait till i read something worth replying to. This time as i was opening a new thread it randomly logged me back in suddenly. Without taking me to the login screen or anything. Kinda makes me think the boards software is having trouble reading cookies, and doing so intermittently.

Yep. That's my been my problem. Everytime I close my browser, I'm out. When I come back and click on the link, I'm already signed in (without having to actually sign in).

Thought I'd post, in case someone needs to know specifics.

I have also experienced this randomness... and in fact it's happening right now: I wasn't logged in while browsing this forum, but as soon as I started to reply to this post, I suddenly was logged in.

I've been having some bugs, but not as bad as those mentioned here.
Every now and then when I show up the forum I'm not logged in.
However, when I hit the button to log in, it loads up as if I'm logged in.

My success has been extremely sporadic. I can get in relatively often on one try, but rarely do I remain signed in like I've selected. Occasionally, I simply can't get in, all day. No rhyme or reason, no messages about he forums being down for maintenance or any other thing. Just a failure to login as if I hadn't even attempted it.

Today has been one of those days. After several hours of trying every half hour or so, I only NOW have managed to get in. Hopefully this post makes it through.

This happens frequently to me as well. When I try to log in, I'm usually treated to the delightful screen with security questions, at which point I usually give up and go somewhere else. Then sometimes, like now in fact, I just click Reply and I'm suddenly logged in. Do I even need to mention that this only ever happens to me on this forum?

Seriously guys, the day you overhaul the forums to modern standards is the day I will consider paying money for a subscription.

Same problems as above. I usually start with the FR General board. I am never logged in (since the "accounts overhaul") when I first load the page. If, however, I click "login" then "where has the login box gone" then "login" again, suddenly I am in and can use it as normal.

What is going on?

I have it set to stay logged in for two weeks, but that doesn't seem to work. I always have to re-enter my login every time I come to this site. When I tried logging in today from the forums page, nothing happened. I was able to log in from the main site and have it stay logged in when I came to the forums.

I'm using Safari 3.2.1, MacOS version 10.4.11 (on this machine). I have noticed some consistent issues with remaining logged in.

Same here.

Frankly, I am growing very impatient with numerous login problems.

The forums do not remember me, despite the checkbox. That is not so bad.

Two weeks ago, I changed my password. Every couple of days thereafter, Gleemax simply won't allow me to log in, either with the new password or the old one. I am forced to reset the password, wherein it works for a couple of hours and then stops working. I have had days where I have had to reset my password three or four times.

Today, clicking on the login link doesn't actually take me to the log in screen. It just reloads the forums without me being logged in. Clicking on a thread sometimes logs me in, sometimes it doesn't.

Opening new pages seems to trigger the problem today. But, if I refresh the page, it has been logging back in. So far. It may be that the page is having problems reading cookies.

I've had the weird effect that when I load the D&D forum top page from a bookmark, I'm not logged in. But when I click on "Click here to login", it does not load the login page, instead it reloads the page I'm on and I'm logged in.
Or, it reloads the page and I'm still logged out. Then I open a forum, open a thread, click "Reply" and I get the login page, and I can log in.

Weird.

I've had the problem on Firefox, both on Windows XP and Mac OS X Leopard, and Safari on iPhone, so it doesn't seem to be a browser-specific problem.

Yes, it is certainly a site based problem and is exceptionally annoying.
Also, I have to ask why there is there even a limit on the amount of time to stay logged in at all? That's just... well stupid really.

Somebody takes the time to register, you verify it and then create a nonsensical manufactured time limit for this log in. Hello?

If they wanted to log out they would do so with the log out button up there next to "search"; it's why it's there.
I have to wonder why the process is done in this fashion at all.

I cannot prove it, but I suspect that this timed log in is at the root of whatever problems this continual glitch is.

Okay, let's see, spent almost a hour back and forth, trying to get the regular way...then tried from the front (main to DDI Insider page).

Nothing happened.

Then tried by a funky unregular reason, the sentence, the preludes to where the sign box has gone to...and HOLIE!!! It remembered my callsign and password.

FIX THIS NOW!!!

Thank you.

Like others I only seem to be able to log in after clicking the link about where the log in box has gone and then trying repeatedly to log in until it takes.

As for logging out it leaves me logged in until I close the browser. I wouldn't mind this last part if logging back in actually worked.

Any news on this from the Wizo's?

It seems to be getting worse. Even clicking on log-in isn't logging me in. I had to hit post reply 4 times, before it auto-logged me in to post this question.

It looks like it may be an issue with the "keep me logged in for two weeks" button, but as I can't get to the log-in screen to uncheck it (logging out then clicking log-in auto-logged me in without taking me to the log-in page), I can't be certain.

Sorry for bumping this, but yeah, I'm not really seeing any improvement on this. I still have the same login problems that have been mentioned earlier. They're not as frequent, admittedly, but they're still there, which annoys me even more now when I'm actually a DDI subscriber.
