It has taken me quite alot of attempts in the past 24 hours to log onto the gleemax boards. The page either hangs indefinitely or I rarely get the following error.

To compound the issue, I could find no way of contacting cust serv without logging onto some sort of form (which would have the same errors) or calling.

My guess is it's the huge influx of people coming to the site in anticipation of the 4e release. The page has been steadily taking longer and longer to log onto.

My theory is that the system is going down due to the loading of the new software for the DDI.

My theory is that the system is going down due to the loading of the new software for the DDI.

8 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is how long it took me to log in after going to dinner!

The current state has little to do with DDI. There is a bit (ok closer to a byte) that could be causing it problems with new members trying to get to DDI and see what is going on, but unless they are signing up by the truckloads, there should be nothing to slow down forums, gleemax, or any other login. Of course unless the website is all on a single server, including MTGO.

The problem is not uncommon, and one that is easily fixed.

As anyone may or may not know in order to even log into Gleemax it requires Javascript enabled.

The method Gleemax uses to connect to ASP.NET via the web form to signin over the Secure Socket Layer (SSL aka httpS) is the Ajax scripts.

The simple fix for all this then is to increase the timeout time something like this:

<br /> AsyncPostBackTimeOut="600" &gt;<br /> <br />

While it's happening, not only can I not log on, but when I visit the forum it loses track of the fact that I am logged in and I find myself as a guest instead (and thus unable to post) - but lo and behold when the problem ends, suddenly the forums consider me to be logged in again.

I yern for a competent web designer...

I will give you the design of the site isn't all that great as the only decent CSS is the one that hardly work (Wizards Community Default), but what is needed is techs to actually make the back end and front end work rather than some hot-to-trot fresh degree in hand queer eye for the straight guy type interior designer coming up with over the top flamboyant graphics and crap that have more overhead to make the site run that the actual information it provides.

The website needs an overhaul alright, but not an upgrade so much as a downgrade and remove all the flashing lights and bells and whistles just sitting there to look pretty with no other fucntion.

Good point, I'll have change my statement for better accuracy, then.

I just managed to sign in after it wouldn't let me extremely early Friday (I'm a second shifter).

However, it looks like the last visited thingy at the top of the page has been fixed, so maybe a message board upgrade has something to do with in.

I did however manage to bug customer service about it, yesterday when it first happened to me. They already e-mailed me back saying it is a known bug and they will add it to the list.
