For the last two days I have been trying to check out the D&D website, only to get a server error. Does anybody know what is going on with the website? Are they doing something or is it just mechanical problems?

Wow, you're right:

Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a03e9'
Out of memory
/default.asp, line 0

Looks like I see the problem... They are using Microsloth :D

Still down, maybe they're actually doing some major update? I'm just glad it's not just my computer :D

First I am soo glad that I'm not the only one

Second I hope they are fixing the website up a little

I hope that they change the old links like map of the week that has the old yellow sidebars

They might just have some sever problems or it could be technical and/or hardware issues but I just hope that they fix it soon

I haven't noticed any problems at all.

Maybe you people were hitting it when they were trying to remove some broken portion related to Glemax, or they were updating the newest articles and the CMS was not able to disply properly at the moment you tried to hit it.

you could try checking to make sure you are not having cookie problems.

I always hate hearing clear your cache, but with the problem transfering to an actual login rather than not really using the data you could be trying to login automatically and hitting an error page where your login was treated as null because you weren't actually logging in but using a bad cookie the site had given you previously.

You can always check the DDI forum for the latest news. mudbunny is prompt at updating threads there for quick reference to allow you to find new items every day, and not only from wizards site, but from elsewhere around the eb that relates to D&D as well.

Still down when I tried it a minute ago.

In addition, when I was able to get on the site earlier (about an hour ago), I tried downloading the PDF for Dragon #365 and got a "file damaged and can't be repaired" message.

Hopefully they get this fixed soon.

No. When you are doing an update to a major entry page you redirect the page to a message. The error message you see is s/g spit out by the server OS. This wasn't planned or directed by a human.
