I am curious as to how moderators are distributed and rotated throughout the forums and subforums.

Is one moderator assigned to each subforum?

Two?

Is one moderator assigned to multiple forums?

Does each moderator work the entire forum system each time he or she works?

Do some days and times have more moderators while other days and times have fewer moderators?

Do ORCs rotate from one forum to another or can one usually expect the same moderators to be working in the same forums time after time?

Don't worry, this has nothing to do with stalking.

Just hoping for answers from someone who knows.

ORCs don't go around looking for CoC violations. They only act on ones that are reported.

All of the reported posts go into a queue, and the ORCs grab the one off th etop, and work on it. Then they grab the next one.

Sorry, I did not mean to imply that they 'looked' for things.

Your description is basically what I meant when I said work the entire forum. Wait, that doesn't sound right.

But, since you replied to the FR thread, I guess you saw where I was going: Since all the ORCs do all the forums, it shouldn't be a case of a 'prejudiced' ORC stacking one side again and again.

Maybe they work out trades?

I'll do the next FR if you do the next off-topic? (Just kidding.)

While they do consult with each other on reported posts that are close to the line, it is first come, first serve.

Like you said:

If you don't want to get your posts ORCed, don't post things that cross the CoC.

How much does the number of moderators on duty at any given time change?

In other words, could it be very possible that moderator scheduling could affect response times?

Jan 25, 2009 2:04:36 Response times depend on a number of factors, including how many other issues they need to handle. VCL requests are done second if there are conduct issues. Shift change does not impact response time.
