Is there anyway I can request some new avatars can be added to the forums?

I would like to see the 4E God symbols (including the Forgotten Realms gods) added - specifically Sehanine's or Selune's symbol.

Thanks!

Agreed, although I think we should just be able to upload our own avatars.

That would be even better!

The M:TG crew get 8 new avatars every time a new set gets released, and that's 4 times a year. If we could get 1 new avatar whenever a new sourcebook or adventure comes out, that would be fair and great.

Come to think of it, this could be the only message board I've seen that doesn't let people upload their own avatars. Any ideas as to why that is?

I believe that has to do with mainting the ESRB rating. iirc, the website has to remain g-rated and uploading personal avatars is a huge can of worms in that situation.

They don't want the headache of having to sort through and approve each and every avatar.

In my opinion, that was a fairly reasonable reason back when the mods didn't work set shifts and were assigned to specific forums. But now there's always a couple of mods on duty, and reporting a post gets things acted on within a few minutes. I don't really see the big deal about allowing everybody to use their own avatars at this point. Inappropriate material will be dealt with quickly enough that there wouldn't be any real risk -- it's roughly the same amount of risk as somebody just posting an image in a post.

I have to disagree with the last sentence. If you post an image, it is one image. If you change your avatar it is changed on every post that you have ever made. Potentially thousands of porn pics at once, if say, the teen son of a longtime poster wished to play a joke on a parent. I've seen stranger things happen. Imagine 2000+ pics outside the CoC being simultaneously posted.

If you D&D folks can collectively come up with a (reasonable) list of images they want to have as avatars, I'd be happy to oblige and actually make some avatar-appropriate images for you. Just get me the raw images and I'll do the rest.

You'll need to petition CM to request the additional avatars, but you won't need to worry about making them.

I would like all the 4E diety symbols as avatars to choose from - this would include Core and Forgotten Realms - specifically Lolth, Sehanine and Selune.

Since I'm not a D&D player, I have no idea what any of those symbols look like. Just link me to an image and say you want "that". :P
