| #1dieffenbachjFeb 01, 2011 21:55:35 | I just checked on a relatively short forum thread, and watched as my browser choked up as it loaded what seemed like a dozen sites... "waiting for facebook.com" "waiting for twittter.com" "waiting for blah blah blah blah" And really? I can review individual posts? Or am I reviewing the poster? Why would I want to facebook/tweet something on these forums anyway? Why would I want to auto-repost all threads I make on these forums to all of my other social accounts? I don't really care about the added feature bloat itself, just the fact that my forum-browsing time went from like 0.5 seconds per thread to 10 seconds per thread. And since I tend to open new tabs for dozens of new threads at a time so I can go through and read them all, this means I can basically open those tabs, then go make a sandwich and come back to see if they've finished. Don't mean to sound crazy reactionary but... I guess that means I'm done browsing/lurking/responding to these forums until either Wizards removes these stupid features that slow down browsing to a crawl, or at least optimizes the page somehow so it doesn't do that. Also, why is it opt-out "Send my post to my linked social accounts"? Seriously. This sudden shift made me deactivate all of my linked accounts. It just became weird, and a little too linked, and all for a benefit I don't want, and the downside is now browsing text became extremely slow. Do not want. I'll try again later to see if it's been fixed or removed. Also, ratings? Really? Why. |
| #2MockFeb 01, 2011 22:15:43 | Yep. I'm with you - I'll come back in a week and see what they did. |
| #3lokiareFeb 02, 2011 0:42:09 | I rated both posts (and mine in a sec) 5 stars!!! great going!!! |
| #4j.i.n.x.Feb 02, 2011 5:57:13 | the more you click on the rating the higher it goes.... no limit to the amount you can raise/lower it sooo useless no? |
| #5KalnaurFeb 02, 2011 6:00:59 | the more you click on the rating the higher it goes.... no limit to the amount you can raise/lower it sooo useless no? Huh. You seem to be right. Considering I just bumped lokiare from 1 star to 5 just by clicking on his stars multiple times. Woo!! 5 stars for everyone!! |
| #6mudbunnyFeb 02, 2011 11:19:54 | This site is run by morons. Thanks WotC your my faviorite. Not. You mean the spell check button that has ABC over top of a checkmark? The one that, when you mouse-over, says "Toggle spellchecker". That the spell checker you are complaining about not being there? |
| #7JhariiFeb 02, 2011 11:26:31 | This site is run by morons. Thanks WotC your my faviorite. Not. Yeah, it's not in mine either. But hardly justifiable condescension. |
| #8Dane_McArdyFeb 02, 2011 11:41:44 | It's in my bar. But yeah, get ride of the stars and facebook, twitter stuff. At best, maybe just a like button, that shows how many people like it, rather then some star rating. |
| #9zombie_babiesFeb 02, 2011 11:47:02 | Yeah, no spell check option for me, either. I simply thought they pulled it as a 'fix' when it was implicated in one of the vanishing post cases. I know it always killed my posts. I also know I mentioned it and that shortly after the issue was 'fixed', I noticed the icon missing. Oh well, I don't really care about spell check. I do care about slower load/response times thanks to crap I don't want and can't turn off, though. |
| #10Harn_WinterfellFeb 02, 2011 18:12:33 | Yes, same lack of spell checker for several months. It's nice to have but yes it did seem to result in vanishing posts. |
| #11celloshaneFeb 04, 2011 17:57:27 | Windows XP, IE 8. No spell check on my posts. I have Strikethrough and Import Magic Deck, but no Spellcheck. I will check with Firefox when I'm not at work. |
