| #1spellwyrmMay 26, 2009 17:29:19 | I have noticed over the last several months that no matter how many attempts I make to alter my password, I am left with a message saying I didn't enter my information right, and therefore cannot change it. I am curious if this problem is just in relation to myself, or if this is indeed a site issue. |
| #2calronmoonflowerMay 27, 2009 1:34:29 | You should try Customer Service. |
| #3spellwyrmMay 27, 2009 2:41:34 | Normally I would; if CS wasn't one large, cruel joke. |
| #4traeplien777May 27, 2009 13:54:52 | I had exactly the same problem for quite a while. I reset about 3 times though, and now it seems to work just fine. |
| #5jutJun 03, 2009 13:05:06 | I hear you! I have reset my password like 4 times now!!!! This is getting annoying! Jut |
| #6CelineSSauveJun 03, 2009 14:19:02 | I haven't had an issue with my password (I don't feel a pressing need to update it), but I'd personally like for D&D Insider to keep me logged in for the two weeks it promises me. Each time I go to the site, I have to get spammed with messages on how I should sign up for a service I already have... On another note: CS did manage to fix the problem of not being able to change the email address my updates were going to. |
| #7mudbunnyJun 03, 2009 14:22:52 | The login to DDI-subscriber material only lasts for 2 hours. That is as designed. |
| #8ZherogJun 03, 2009 14:33:10 | I hear you! I have reset my password like 4 times now!!!! I'm going from a vague memory here, so I could be wrong. But try this and see if it works: The next time you need to reset your password via the system, do everything you're doing now -- get the automated response, change it, and so on. Once you've done all that, log out of the forums and log back in again. See if that resolves the problem. |
| #9jutJun 03, 2009 15:10:41 | Okay cool, I will try that. Thanks! Jut |
| #10jutJun 03, 2009 15:12:10 | Hey it looks like it worked. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jut |
| #11ZherogJun 03, 2009 15:17:27 | ![]() The problem, as I recall, is that even though you've changed your password the cookie that marks it as temporary is still there because your session remains active. If that cookie expires, the system treats it as though your temporary password expired -- even though you changed it. By logging out and logging back in, you force the system to remove that cookie. Glad this old man's memory still works, at least some times. ;) |
| #12jutJun 04, 2009 9:00:32 | Well it didn't let me in, again! But I am on a different computer, I tired that above tirck and it SEEMS to have worked. SO . . . once again, thanks! Jut |
| #13ZherogJun 04, 2009 9:46:30 | hmmm... different computer shouldn't matter, I would think. I'm curious now if it continues to happen... |
| #14jutJun 04, 2009 15:03:49 | I SEEM to be good to go now. Thanks for the help! I will repost in this thread if I have any more problems, but that above fix seems to do the trick! Thanks a million! Jut |
