Please move D&D General further down.

Currently, on the "front page" of D&D General, there are four threads about classes, three about magic items, one book review, three edition reviews (plus the sticky), and two about skill rules. That's over half the front page that belong somewhere other than General (albeit, debatably so for the edition reviews).

Page 2 has 8 threads that were moved to their more-appropriate Forums, and page 3 has another nine moved threads.

Give the moderators and readers a break. Drop this Board further down the page of D&D Fundamentals so that those who "Can’t find what you’re looking for in one of our forums below" have some incentive / default reason to actually look at some of the other forums first.

Pretty please?

Note: I am cross-posting this on D&D General because it is directly related to both.

Agreed. General is soaking up more flak than it used to (in my experience).

When the recent re-org was done, several folks (including me) pointed out that moving D&D General up to the top would produce this sort of result. Thank you for providing me an "I told you so" moment. ;)

As I had said previously, I want to give it some time then reconsider if its apparent that it is causing issues.

However, those sections had all their threads in the right places; General is getting a bunch of posts that should be going elsewhere, and even though it's perfectly capable of handling them traffic-wise, it would be more helpful to forumgoers if it didn't have to.

-wrecan didn't keep track of the D&D General thread numbers, unfortunately, so I have no basis of comparison. General sections are always busy places, though.

-While such a thing probably wouldn't be read by the casual poster, perhaps a "What Goes Where" kind to stickied post at the top of the General section would help.

But I did informally keep track. It was upwards of 110 active threads/day at the height of the Edition Wars. Rules Q&A was also getting like 100 threads/day. It was insane, but that's what happens with a new edition.

Before the merger, General Discussion was a dead zone. If it got ten pertinent threads/day, that would have been a lot, and like now, most of the threads it got were appropriate to other forums.

And if past history teaches us anything, even after it gets moved back down near the bottom of the list, it'll continue to get threads that belong elsewhere. It'll just get fewer of them.

Does it matter how many there are if a large percentage are in the wrong place?

Right now, there are 6/25 moved threads on the first page, 13/25 moved threads on the second page, 14/25 moved threads on the third page 6/25 moved threads on the fourth page.
