PLEASE! Stickies for the Character Building forum

May 20, 2008 17:36:54 I would first of all really like to express how put off I am by the "Character Building" forum. Each topic within it is, IMO, enough for its own forum once the full rules are out. Having them all clustered together has caused a HUGE increase in that forum's traffic, and threads that would have been still been safely on the first page are now lost in the forum overnight.

I have two requests. Firstly, please, whoever is in charage of forum creation and destruction, please seperate this forum in to more manageable peices.

My second request is one I would ask wheter the first is honored or not. Please, sticky some threads. With the recombination of 4e and 4.5 forums, we need a D&D Classes FAQ (which I have lost the link to because it became unstickied) now more than ever on the first page. Elderich_Lord's Classes and RacesCompendiums, and my Homebrew Powers and Feats compendium now have dire need to remain on the first page!

May 26, 2008 8:56:15 I again cannot express how sencere I am in this plea. People are flooding the forums with repeat questions, 3.5 things, and the like. If these threads were stickied (particularly the Classes FAQ ), this would not be a problem.

May 26, 2008 9:36:59 I'm pretty much abandoned the Character Building/ Optmization / Development forums - I'm confused as to what the difference is and they seem overcrowded & full of 3.5e stuff which just thows me.

Building has to do with races, classes, gear, etc. Everything to do with characters....unless there is another forum for it.

Optimization is for min-maxing stats to try to "beat" the game and win at D&D.

Development I guess is for backstory?

3.5 stuff is there because they jsut rename the old forums and combined all the threads into one cluster forum I guess, or the fact that still 4th edition doesn't exist in any fully playable fashion the only thing to really be able to work with characters is the latest edition until full character "rules" are available for sale.

May 26, 2008 10:26:26 There seems to a large degree of overlap between those things.... and Optimization/Building seem very similar, just with different intent. Maybe.

May 26, 2008 10:50:31 Building is supposed to cover Races, Classes, Prestige Paths, and Powers, I think. CO is what it's always been and CD is about backstories and how to be a better roleplayer.
