I am unable to subscribe to the Wizards of the Coast Podcast: when I subscribe, it gives me an error that "it does not seem to have a valid podcast URL"

Is this something that WotC is aware of? Did they pull out from iTunes?

Seriously, could someone with itunes tell me if there is a problem with the podcast or not?

Hmmmm ... no idea what the problem is for you. My podcast still downloads just fine, but I've been subscribed for years ...

Here is what is happening:

When I click the link on this page that says "To subscribe to the D&D podcast, simply here." it opens iTunes, but I get a message saying "The item you requested is not available in the US store."

When I try to subscribe to the Wizards of the Coast podcast using iTunes itself, it says ""Wizards of the Coast Podcasts" does not seem to have a valid Podcast URL." NOTE: I am not typing anything, I'm using the link that is in iTunes itself.

I can play the podcasts, but I can't subscribe to it at all.

Using Safari and Firefox (happens on both), OS X 10.5.7, and iTunes 8 (was happening on iTunes 7).

Can anybody try subscribing to the podcast again anew to check if the issue happens to them on a Windows machine?

I don't have iTunes, so I can't try what happens to you.

You might want to try manually specifying the feed instead of trying to use the webpage. Copy this URL, then open iTunes and try to add a podcast, and give this as the location.

http://www.wizards.com/dnd/rsspodcast.xml

Note that the podcast feed is weird, it's "backwards" compared to most other podcasts I've seen, being in chronological order instead of reverse chronological order. Also, every podcast ever made is listed in it, instead of just the 20 most recent or so. In addition, sometimes the feed will be modified in such a way that it looks like all entries are new, and my podcast software faithfully downloads all these "new" episodes, every last one of them.

iTunes will not download episodes 4 or 7, no matter which computer I'm on.

iTunes will not download episodes 4 or 7, no matter which computer I'm on.

The direct links to the podcasts are:

http://media.gleemax.com/podcasts/DnD_Episode4.mp3
http://media.gleemax.com/podcasts/DnD_Episode7.mp3

You should be able to convince iTunes to download them by selecting the missing episode in iTunes and doing a Get Info (Command-I or Ctrl-I), somewhere in that screen (I think it is Where: ) you should be able to change the URL to the one above and it should then download.

The RSS feed has the files listed as m4a files whereas these two are MP3s. The URL is identical except for the file extension.

I did this a few months ago and it worked for me.

.

This fixed it for me.
