| #1zombie_babiesJan 24, 2012 11:52:39 | It appears they are. Why? |
| #2zombie_babiesJan 24, 2012 12:32:00 | I don't even care. I just wanna know why my join date an' post count are gone. |
| #3Seeker95Jan 24, 2012 14:05:26 | Posting to see if it is just "you people". ![]() |
| #4zombie_babiesJan 24, 2012 14:11:53 | Heh, nope. I noticed it all over the place. Been hangin' in the 5e areas a li'l lately and that's actually where I noticed it first. I'm guessing it's a way to hide who the newer people are. And that's lame. |

I'm guessing it's a way to hide who the newer people are. And that's lame. It's about balance. That way you with you 20K+ post count don't make people with their 15v post count feel inadequate. Why you gotta hate on balance yo? ![]() |
| #6zombie_babiesJan 24, 2012 14:42:37 | Cuz they didn't think it was a problem for over 23k posts and suddenly do now. It's one of the ways I amused myself and they took it from me. Lamers. Total lamers, man. Plus how is anyone supposed to know they have to listen to me now? I'm, like, gonna hafta try to post good stuff again or somethin'. Er ... nah. I never did that. |

This way is better. Now everyone can post and feel like their posts count too. Before it was people who had huge post counts that counted. Now everyone can have fun. It like the forum re-org is a better design or something. |
| #8zombie_babiesJan 24, 2012 15:07:38 | Man, I can see how something like that would be fun for some, but what about my fun? Why does it have to suffer? You know what, I'm just gonna go ahead and act like I've got like 10 posts and have no idea what the culture here is like. Nothin' stoppin' me now! ![]() |
| #9MirtekJan 24, 2012 15:19:01 | I heard Paizo will set up new forums where you're post count is preserved. They'll call them the Postfinder boards |
| #10zombie_babiesJan 24, 2012 15:34:27 | Cute. I have to ask, though, that if you've got nothing constructive to add that you refrain from posting - especially if it's only to try and make fun of my desires. Thanks. |
| #11bone_nagaJan 24, 2012 15:43:39 | It's the first move of the new edition. To put all the characters on equal footing, they had to first put all the posters on equal footing. This way, no one knows who's been here longer (although we can see who has actually taken time to select an avatar, that'll have to be fixed). Remember, if no one is special, everyone is! Wait, on second thought I think the saying goes a little differently... ![]() |

Wait, on second thought I think the saying goes a little differently... No, this is WoTC, you'll have to wait for forums.5 when they'll finally get to the avatars to make everyone feel the same. Unfortunately at the same time they willgive everyone all their posts back because they want to bring back the members that left the forums for compitor forums that kept the forum counts all along. |
| #13mvincentJan 24, 2012 17:38:52 | The forums were so much better in the Gleemax days. My friends and I still use a home-brew Gleemax forum. |

| #19Mad_JackJan 24, 2012 20:18:31 | I personally would like my post count back... I paid for that DDI icon under my avatar, but I earned that post count - and as hard as it is to believe, I mostly earned it with constructive and helpful posts, good character advice and character pic requests, rather than snark, one-liners, random dead-celebrity alerts and mindless meanderings in the not-about-anything threads... ![]() (Okay, I admit it, I'm just a lazy < bleep > - looking at those 4 numbers was just easier and less time-consuming than going back and looking at all my previous posts...) |
| #20bone_nagaJan 24, 2012 20:39:25 | I just want to say, you're all a bunch noobs. Just look at your lack of posts. ![]() |
| #21homicidal_squirrelJan 24, 2012 20:51:22 | See what I mean? |
| #22StevenOJan 24, 2012 21:08:38 | It's been a long time since I've visited the Community pages but this is where Search took me and I want to add my voice to this question/concern. I know I lost thousands on my post count tally during the last major reoganization but blanking out join dates really hurts when it comes to figuring out what's going on. Post counts may not be an absolute measure of what someone knows about a topic, especially when they start posting to a new zone after YEARS of posting other places, but it does help pick out newbies who may not be familiar with certain terminology used on a given board. I'll also say that just because someone has a low post count that doesn't mean their contributions are worthless; they may get a touch more scrutiny by you shouldn't believe everything you read anyway. I'd also say that titles and all those pretty little icons underneath some members avatar don't mean a thing. Ok, maybe they do in certain places but there are other places on the boards where no-one who posts regularly has a title, an icon, or any idea that those thing are even available much less applicable to that section of the boards. This may represent a touch of ego but I've been a figure on the SWRPG board for years but how would a flyby poster have clue about that to know if the information they are getting is correct? Looking at the earlier posters on this thread the only names I recognize are Seeker95 (from a long time ago) and wrecam and the Orc although these last two are mostly by reputation and associated titles. |
| #23MysteriaJan 25, 2012 5:13:06 | Seems like each time they reorganize the forum, we loose a bit more of information displayed with our posts. Is there any reason for removing them beyond just 'because we can'? I also still miss seeing where people come from in the world. *sigh* |
| #24JRedGiant1Jan 25, 2012 12:58:53 | Removing the post count may or may not be a good idea - but this communications blackout from the WoTC Community Team on the subject is definitely not appealing to me, and most of the community I would imagine. We would greatly appreciate an official, public explanation. |
| #25bone_nagaJan 25, 2012 15:53:26 | Strangely enough, I never really paid much attention to my post count until after it was gone for a short while. |
| #26crazy_monkeyJan 25, 2012 16:02:53 | Howdy folks, So, this appears to have been a minor technical glitch that cropped up while we were creating new forums, moving threads, etc. Sorry for the inconvenience. |
| #27zombie_babiesJan 26, 2012 8:23:48 | Howdy folks, Thanks for the explanation - it's just what I wanted! Seriously, I appreciate the news. Thanks. |
| #28MysteriaJan 26, 2012 14:26:10 | Now that's what I call communicating ... and it's good news to boot! ![]() |
| #29Plaguescarred1Jan 26, 2012 18:34:51 | Wheren't the badges under the Date Joined/Post Counts before instead of above ? |
