Well everyone, it's that time of year again!
For those of you who aren't aware, The Escapist (www.theescapist.com/blog/) is promoting Read an RPG Book in Public Week (Sept. 26th to Oct. 2nd), and the event could really use your help!
The point is to make the roleplaying hobby more visible, to get it "out of the basement" and into public areas where more people can see it. This will make others more aware of the hobby - some may ask you what your book is about, giving you the opportunity to explain the hobby to them. A few of those may be interested enough to try it themselves. Former gamers may see what you're reading and think about the great times they used to have with roleplaying, and possibly even try it again.
Now, I personally, being the secretive type (I am the 'Secret DM™', after all...) can't really directly contribute (I've got my secret identity to protect!) -- but I am looking for suggestions from others that would allow me to support the cause, while still maintaining my anonymity.

Where the hell do you live?
I've never been shy about my hobbies. If people want to think less of me because I like getting together with a bunch of friends and pretending to be a magical elf, moving little painted figurines around and rolling silly quantities of bizarre-looking dice, then screw 'em. Why should I care what closed-minded [stupid donkeys] think?
One of the best things about the new Essentials books, IMO, is that they're a convenient size to read on the bus.
