| #1another_poetFeb 29, 2008 13:46:53 | Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone can tell me why Regdar's hasn't been updated in about six weeks. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love having my article at the very top. But I'm sure other folks have submitted stuff too. ![]() ap |
| #2malignorFeb 29, 2008 14:58:12 | I've been waiting for days, for a few entries I put in. ![]() |
| #3lastknightleftFeb 29, 2008 15:34:20 | I had a topic posted a short time ago, I missed it for like three weeks and then saw it, but it has been a long time since anything new has come up |
| #4EdymnionFeb 29, 2008 15:53:22 | We can probably blame Gleemax. The WizO in charge of Regdar's probably got yanked off to work on brain in a jar stuff. |
| #5calronmoonflowerFeb 29, 2008 16:53:59 | Well Regdar got eaten by a dragon (again!) and Jozan is out of town working for Wizards of the Coast, so one on is around to Resurrect him. If you send me a diamond worth 25,000 gp I'll see what I can do about it. :D Seriously however, I suspect that it is do to 4th ed firing up and a lack of someone to read and approve the posts. At least The Sage came out of hibernation. ![]() |
| #6EdymnionFeb 29, 2008 20:08:32 | At least The Sage came out of hibernation. Oh yes, however did we manage to solve important pressing delimas like how long it took a dwarf's beard to grow without the precious Sage around? |
| #7wrecanMar 01, 2008 16:48:51 | I have no inside info, but I think Regdar's is effectively dead. That's why I've moved my Regdar articles over to my Gleemax blog. |
| #8ORC_ChaosMar 02, 2008 9:08:07 | Regdar's is under Community Management now and they have a thread up about it HERE. |
| #9AirosMar 02, 2008 17:41:05 | Well, since it's in a restricted forum, I hope that one of the WizO's or VCL's can re-post my concerns in that thread. There's a lot of talk about 4th edition, Gleemax/Blogs, Regdar no longer being an "Iconic", and the restructuring of the boards. Some of us don't plan on making the switch to 4th edition. I think that Regdar's should be left right where it is, on the 3rd edition boards, and a new "Regdar's", (call it whatever you want), put on the 4th edition boards, and/or the Gleemax boards/blogs. There's still a board for older editions of D&D, so I don't see a reason why the current boards can't be left just as they are. I understand that WotC had nothing to do with D&D pre-2nd edition, and very little do to with 2nd edition, so even just that one board on their servers is a huge favor they're doing for the community. They've had everything in the world to do with 3rd edition, and it'd be nice if they left the boards alone. There'd be little concern for server space, since the archiving would move all the inactive threads, and as more and more people made the switch to 4th, the 3rd edition boards would begin to shrink on their own. At some point in the future, perhaps, these boards would shrink to the point in which there was only a need for a single board, but I don't think we're anywhere near that point. So, really, what I guess I'm trying to say is that I'm a huge fan of this community, and I value these boards as a resource for my games. I don't want to move a different site for what I've already got here. |
| #10another_poetMar 04, 2008 16:02:52 | Hi WizO_Chaos, and thanks for giving an official answer. Although I love these forums and I hate to pile any extra work on you WizO's, I'd like to voice a complaint about how this transition for Regdar's (whatever it turns into) is being handled. If new articles and reponses to existing articles are not currently being reviewed or posted, there really needs to be some kind of announcement of that on the Regdar's page. It really should be a Sticky in its own right, but even the Regdar's FAQ hasn't been updated since September and doesn't mention that Regdar's is being re-evaluated. Anyone who stops by Regdar's would think that they can post and expect to see their post up within a few weeks at most, just like it's always been. I'm not anti-Gleemax or anti-4e. I'd like to see Regdar's stay as it is, but if you guys change the format or get rid of it that's your call. No matter what you're going to do with it, and whether it's being managed by the community or WizO's, someone needs to post an update in Regdar's so that people know it's on hold and may not come back. I've been working on a Bronze Age D&D article for the past two weeks intending to submit it to Regdar's, and am upset that no one bothered to post an announcement about this in Regdar's. So, for what it's worth, I hope this gets back to the right people and that some kind of announcement is put up. Thanks for taking the time to read this. AP |
| #11wrecanMar 04, 2008 16:19:18 | I agree that an announcement should be put up on Redgar's that Redgar's is accepting no more submissions at this time. |
| #12gamer_zer0Mar 05, 2008 16:01:33 | I agree that an announcement should be put up on Redgar's that Redgar's is accepting no more submissions at this time. I'll post that now. Sorry about the confusion and transition. |
| #13ZherogMar 05, 2008 16:44:29 | You're sorry about the transition? :P :P ![]() |
| #14another_poetMar 05, 2008 21:12:52 | Thanks Gamer Zero. For what it's worth I'd like to put in my opinion that Regdar's should live on. If you need to change the name or give it a 4e slant that makes sense, but it's generally wise to preserve anything that's popular with customers, which Regdar's is. ap |
| #15wrecanMar 21, 2008 8:06:48 | FYI: Wizo_Sinister added a post to a different thread in Redgar's ([post=15392150]Linky[/post]), pusking Mike's notice so you don't see it from the forum page. It could probably use a bump. |
| #16ORC_SinisterMar 21, 2008 11:20:50 | My bad, I accessed that post while reading up on the whole stormwind thing on google. When I clicked the google link I honestly didn't even pay attention to the what section of the boards I was on, I figured it was open posting so I just posted. I deleted my posts there when I learned about the issue since it's not very fair that no one can respond to my post. If someone knows where else where that discussion (on the stormwind fallacy) is going on, I'd appreciate the PM so I could join in on the debate. thanks, Sin |
| #17ZherogMar 21, 2008 11:55:20 | I'll also drop you a PM, but I'm posting it here so others can also find it if they're interested. [thread=941969]This thread[/thread] on D&D General is, I believe, the only current thread that discusses the Stormwind Fallacy. |
