| #1FredMay 28, 2009 13:26:03 | Every time I did a search this morning I end up with a blank screen. Is the search engine down or is it something else? |
| #2mathmat2112May 28, 2009 13:54:07 | That's been happening to me a lot this past week. At some point during every day. |
| #3SquadJun 14, 2009 18:07:50 | I'm still having a problem with the search function returning a blank page. Is there any fix for this? |
| #4celloshaneJun 15, 2009 10:11:36 | If the page doesn't show up for me, I refresh multiple times and I can get it. I would suggest that for you. |
| #5likaoJun 16, 2009 15:34:34 | Unfortunately, if I refresh it too soon it barks at me that I can only perform a search once every thirty seconds. I'm completely unable to get any search results, no matter how long I wait. This has been happening to me off and on for the past two months. |

| #7likaoJun 17, 2009 8:55:44 | Adding to following to a google seach will cause it to search this site alone, "site:http://forums.gleemax.com". You'll find that while this does limit the search to the gleemax forums, the results are not very fresh. For example, if I search on "search this site alone" with that site modifier, it does not return your post to this thread (although it does find a post you made with same phrase on 4-11-09). I don't know how often the google spiders (or whatever method they actually use to index sites) walk the site to index it. It'd be interesting to see how many days go by before the search will return your post. I'd also be interested to know what's going wrong with the search engine here. *crickets* |
| #8pyro_azerJun 17, 2009 15:51:19 | Google is a nice tool to use when search is down. However, its existence doesn't excuse search being down. If there is a problem with the boards search (which i have been seeing one) getting it fixed would be very beneficial. |
| #9jwalkerJun 24, 2009 20:37:49 | This search bug has existed for at least a year. |
| #10eternallygeekJun 26, 2009 19:17:57 | I am experiencing the blank screen when I attempt to search as well. I see this behavior in IE, Firefox and Opera. I'm a bit nervous to post a question now because I just know that if I ask it without being able to search, it will have been an already answered question. ![]() |
| #11pyro_azerJun 26, 2009 23:00:46 | Use google link: http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=007013270939347630102:wdqgupg-sem That is a search that will only search the boards. |
| #12morvannonJun 28, 2009 5:47:13 | Use google As mentioned, Google is a nice workaround. It's not an excuse to have a search function that doesn't work. |
| #13Mr_GreengoatJul 05, 2009 10:55:42 | Isn't a working forum search one of the necessary requirements for civilized society? I get the blank screen as well. Running: Firefox 3.0.11 Mac OS 10.5.7 |
| #14eternallygeekAug 10, 2009 18:46:19 | Isn't a working forum search one of the necessary requirements for civilized society? I would think so. Imagine the number of duplicate posts that may exist now that people can't search to see if their question has already been answered. That makes the moderators jobs even more difficult. |

That makes the moderators jobs even more difficult. Trust me, a working search wouldn't change this much. For everyone having problems, have you tried going to Advanced Search and searching from there? I've never received a blank page that way. |

Just tried that now and still no luck. I'm going to try a different browser, probably Opera, and even clean the cache in Firefox. |
