| #1stanlesJun 27, 2008 6:31:02 | I've noticed for a long time that the search functionality on the board never seemed to have been implemented. Although recently many people have been mentioning using it. It seems the only difference between my account and other people's is that I'm a Community Assistant and not a Member. Has search functionality been implemented for Community Assistants? |

| #3lord_karsusJun 27, 2008 14:28:57 | -See THIS announcement. The Search feature has worked for me for a very long time, now, and continues to do so. It is likely that because of the work being done, the feature goes on and offline every so often, and you just happen to be trying to access it when it's not working. |

The search function has never worked for with this user account. I created another user account to test a theory and it had search functionality. Someone posited that it could be because this user account is a different user type, namely "Community Assistant" and so they might have been missed or something. Either way it's not a case of me trying to access it when it's not working, it just isn't there for this user. |
| #5ZherogJun 28, 2008 8:58:04 | Interesting. I'll buy into the theory about it being tied to the user type. I know I had a problem with my PM box that was tied to the Gamemaster user type. Unfortunately, I don't even know who you should talk to. |

That might take a little bit of time, though. They say they try to get responses to complaints done quick, but I'm still waiting two weeks later for some closure on a complaint file I opened, so... |

I'm having a similar problem, and it seems to have begun when the forums started having their recent stability issues. As of today, I have not been able to access the search function at all with my main user account (the one I'm posting this with) for over a week, though my secondary account (which I'd completely forgotten about until I saw this thread) has no such problems. However, unlike Stanles, my main account has me listed as a Member, and I've had no problems with Search access until this started happening. So I'm not so sure it's tied to user type alone, if at all. Hopefully this will all be straightened out soon once all the stability bugs have been ironed out and everything's back to normal. |
