Hi,

Am I doing something wrong or is anyone else having an issue with the Search capability here?

If I try to do a multi word search (either in basic or advanced) the forum always returns a blank page.

Any comments or thoughts?

Thanks!

Sometimes you get a blank screen when looking at profiles also. I think ths system just doesn't make the connection or times out. With profiles, I keep hitting the refresh button until I get something other than 'done' and a blank screen. It might be the same with search.

The search function never properly supported a multi word search even without the blank page.

I suggest that you try a google site search.

Interesting. You would think they would want to fix that (multi-word searches failing).

Since people are not able to cleary search for appropriate posts I would bet Wizards would be getting a lot of duplication on subjects (users just posting the same question over and over).

Is anyone aware of a place to report this issue?

Thanks.

It doesn't really fail, it just gives pages with any of the multiple words in it instead of just the ones with all of them.

Have you tried searching with quotations ("search words"). That is the way to get an exact match for a particular phrase. I tested it to make sure it works, and it does.

As far as matching words in a document that are not together, I tried testing this:

player & however & dice & game & class & handbook & rules & archives & types & die & description & look & creature & level & benefits & host

and this:

player however dice game class handbook rules archives types die description look creature level benefits host

and got the same results: 3 results. The words were all over the document. It seems to be working, but I was wondering if you could post some of your search word combinations so I can test with those?

Thanks!
