#1 hellmute Jul 02, 2008 13:21:31	For some unknown reason my default style just went unchanged however every page I visited said vBulletin default yet had the horrid Gleemax style.... Something is rotten in Denmark I think....???

In your account, it says as much (something along the lines of sometimes the default overrides your personal preference. In this case, it's always). You have to change it when you first log-in, at the bottom left hand side of the screen. It then stays like that until you close the window. -There was a thread about it here, and an "official" WotC person said he'd/she'd look into the matter, but it still persists.
#3 hellmute Jul 03, 2008 2:56:46	I never look at the bottom. I have it set to D&D Default since Wizards Default is still broken after months. The funny thing is that it isn't broken as I use it in a plugin for Firefox and it overwrites the existing style for these forums with no problems so no matter what page I view I see Wizards Default style. So it was odd seeing the images for Gleemax appear for any reason without myself changing a setting. I don't think this is as small a problem as they think because it means something is NOT sending data correctly if the javascript forms are changing on their own. And it is more than just a problem with the Wizards Default Style, which as I noted works fine with the Firefox plugin. It is something that ONLY occurs when I try to view a thread. Any problem. That means to me there is first something wrong with the showthread.php script. There may also be a problem with the order the CSS is being applied with the header, main page, forms, and footer. I think they just need to start with a fresh copy of vBulletin and rewrite the things into it that make WotC forums. Something really got screwed up along the way, and as much as I dislike vBulletin because of its cost vs PHPBB that does the same thing better for free...vBulletin doesn't have this kind of problem on ANY other site that uses it that I know. MKRealms, no problem. Many other sites I can't remember their names...no problem. Just WotC broke vBultetin with somethin in its system trying to override something that vBulletin is doing in those fancy headers, and such. Maybe such a style issue where the same name or ID is given to some HTML element, or the same global variable is being used in multiple javascripts that are conflicting. Either way it isn't very convincing to be able to run a forum if you are using major software and having this many problems with the forums. Maybe Jelsoft needs to be contacted for help so someone that understands the forums software can fix the problem as part of their customer support. Which for the price of vBulletin it had better have or I would switch to PHPBB3 in a heartbeat! Anywho.... I will keep a check on the bottom of the screen from now on or fiddle with my Firefox plugin to make sure no matter what the thread icons remain the same on EVERY page, so thanks for that tip.
