| #1darqueknightJun 07, 2008 19:19:19 | Let me begin by saying I generally like the new forum layout and am having an easy time navigating. I just have one Request. There are sections for creating different types of characters, rules, DMs, players, ect. Yet there is not a single section about one of the most central aspects of this game. The "R" in RPG. ROLEplaying. I know some might think this a superfluous thing to add to the forums, but consider the amount of posting that is being done about the way 4th is affecting RP in D&D. Full disclosure - I have played all kinds of games and i play RPG's (TT and LARP) primarily for the RP element. I am the guy who comes to the table with the three page character background. I have a distinctive voice and quirks for each induvidual character. So I am a bit biased about this particular topic. I just think that adding a place in the forums to discuss the Roleplaying aspect of the game might encourage some of the posters to actually think about the RP possibilities that 4th offers them by releasing us from some rules. It would also be a good place to discuss things that make for good roleplaying, good character backgrounds, motivations, that are not rules based. a place to HIGHLIGHT what we can do without the rules. just my 2 cents WotC guys and whoever else is interested. [forum=884]Character Development[/forum] is most often used for character backgrounds and such; however, there's no reason not to use it for, "My character background is X and my party has decided to head to Y. How do you think my I should react in character." [forum=48]Player Advice[/forum] (formerly known as What's a Player to Do?, and potentially changing names again in the near future) is a forum dedicated to handling any need a player has, whether it's help choosing a race, deciding if multiclassing is worth it, dealing with a tyrannical DM, or a question about the roleplay aspects of your character. Hope that helps! ![]() |
