#1 Psionx Jun 08, 2008 3:03:36	Remove the thread rating system. Too many people give a thread 1 or 5 stars simply whether it agrees with their views and not on how good it is. I know this firsthand because I do it.

#6 Psionx Jun 08, 2008 21:50:08	When you enter a thread right under the first new reply button is a bar that says: View First Unread..Thread..Tools..Search this Thread..Rate Thread..Display Modes Rate thread allows you to submit a rating from 1 to 5 stars. People use it to bash threads rather than actually rate them. I do it all the time, and knowing is half the battle... Doesn't have that option here though. So to clarify, remove it from the general discussion forums.

#11 hellmute Jun 14, 2008 19:44:34	I doubt it. Seems like to just be a popularity contest in any form. Frequent posters in one forum will vote higher for their friends and lower for newcomers. Stupid concept to even have unless there was something that actaully displays the highest ranking threads.

#14 sebby Jun 14, 2008 22:00:58	It's not a problem, this rating system. But it does not work as intended. Personally, I use it to object to, or approve of, the mere existance of a thread. In the first case, it's just my non-CoC-violating way of saying: "This thread is made of stupid". Also, 1 to 5 stars? What's up with that? Who ever gives 2, 3 or 4 stars? That said, I'm indifferent to its staying or going. I never decide to read a thread or not based on the rating.

The point of this thread is whether or not this is a problem. -No, the point is the OP suggesting that it be removed, and the conversation that followed, which entailed others giving evidence and experience supporting the OP's views, for the most part. ;)
