After that annoying bar on the right got removed the space in the forums increased to the point I had to constantly recenter it so I could read the entirety of the posts.

Now it is properly sized. So thanks to whoever fixed it.

if you mean by properly sized that it still just takes up about 30% of my browser screen, yes, then it is properly sized now.

whitebaron, what resolution do you run at that the display takes up 30% of your browser? (I'm at 1280 x 800 because of my poor close-up vision, and it takes up about 75% of my screen.)

I am using 1920 X 1200 and it takes up about 50%

I'm set at 1024 X 768 and my posts end right of the edge of the screen sense the change.

the reply-textbox is always 680px wide.
the background image is always 1024px wide
my screen is usually 1920 px wide.

the most annoying bit about it is the tiny reply box that can not be changed - followed immediately by the entirely black bars on both sides of the screen if you happen to have a larger resolution than 1024x something.

so you mean the site is about 48-50% of your screen.

I know a quick and dirty fix for internet explorer for this type of thing.
In the lower right hand corner is a tool that changes the zoom level.
Changing that should increase the size of that tiny box.
Other browsers might have a similar options.

well, try to go into a group, and you'll see how this ends up in just 30% used. the actual text portion of the page is 600 px wide there. 350px left border with "groups menu" and 50 px right border, then another 450px on each side the black bars...

edit @calron: while this is a quick and dirty fix, it also does other unwanted stuff - it scales text to "too big", resizes gfx so that it looks unsharpened, and you have to change it back and forth should you ever visit more than one page in the same browser window.

Well that is is dirty part of quick and dirty.
I'm curious if anyone have tried to email Customer Service about this with a screen capture of the problem?

I'm at 1280 x 800, and I haven't at all noticed this change everyone's talking about. It looks good to me, but I agree that if it can be done, they should have it stretch to work well with the user's resolution.
