Good to see the forums back and mobile friendly, too! Now that I can quote on my android, I might turn off the cloaking device and post more often. Now let us discuss Next! ;

Mobile friendly?  Now that is nice.  I don't like the new look though.  Hopefully I can find a way to change the settings.

Yeah, the white bothers my eyes.  I'll have to find a darker backround somewhere.  I'm off to check some settings ;).

I did notice I had to change my bookmark.

Options:

  1. I hate the new version! Everything was perfect before! Why would they change it?!
  2. Thank God they changed it! The old version was awful!

Everybody pick one and repeat it constantly for the next few years.

Oh, and comment on the new forums too if you have time.

So they went and changed the forums.  That, of my nightly alcohol drinkin' is messin' with my perceptions.

Will comment more tomorrow.

The quote button doesn't seem to be working. Hopefully they will get that fixed.

I was using the old D&D Theme and now...well, I guess I am  not.  I have way too much empty space on the right.

This sure is different. Why is it Save and not post? What am I missing? Can I get a high-five for misleading choice of words? EDIT: How do I space? I am like an infant. /raaaage

Man, I'm having trouble tapping in the text box. Took 10 taps.

Also, how do I get back to the forum from a thread?!?

Don't bother with settings.  Put on some shades.

Just a general heads-up . . . they're asking everyone to use this feedback thread for questions, complaints, etc. about the new forums.

How are the forums mobile friendly? I couldn't even access the forums from my android.

... and it doesn't work very well on Opera. Might stop using it if I can't figure out how to get the thing to show a list that's not crammed down the side of the page.

Ugliest forum I have ever seen.

Hell, it took me a good 10 minutes to FIND the forums on my phone. It was marginally quicker on my desktop. Settings are badly needed. I don't give a dire rat's left testiclewhat the avatar of the last poster is. Less flash more substance.

the only thing bothering me is that the front page/the entire thread list doesn't seem to reorganize according to most recent post...so that might get annoying.

WotC apparently doesn't care about tradition! The old forums had everything we ever needed! These new "forums" are a joke! They're not real forums and anyone posting here is not a real poster! How could WotC be so stupid as to destroy the legacy of the greatest forums ever with this abomination! They've ruined the forums forever! Anyone who likes them is stupid and a bad person and doesn't understand what real forums are all about! I learned to post on real forums and now WotC has taken my forums away in their greedy, corporate cash grab! I hate you all with the burning fires of a thousand suns! You should rethink your pathetic lives and understand what real forums are about as this forum is clearly dumbed-down and taken from WoWChat! How could you be so misguided as to think this is any good?! They've spit in the face of the forums. Call it WotCWhiteSpace, or something else, but it's not the forums!

Lest anyone get mad, that's in my opinion.

On a more serious note: I'm guessing the white space on the right will be filled either with links, ads or both.

#28

Sep 10, 2013 6:24:58

Besides the MASSIVE white space, both on the sides, the spacing, and the fact that it does a new <P'> every time you hit enter instead of a </BR'>...

and the fact that i have to redo everything...

It's actaully a bit better.

#29

Kattahn

Sep 10, 2013 6:28:38

The white space on the side is crazy, the colors give me a headache, there is SO much wasted space, "save" being "post" is stupid, and the forums don't rearrange based on latest post.

This reminds me of a geocities site from 1997.

I love how the threads are organized by creation date. This whole "pop up to the top everytime something is added" is way to gamist for me and doesn't support my playstyle.

Tip:  If you press shift+enter
You get the next line without doublespacing.

Not sure how that would work on mobile devices.

As a person who worked in web design for years, I'd actually argue they don't look professional at all. I get a very busy/amateurish feel to it. Formatting is all over the place, spacing is out of control, and the color scheme is...interesting...

But thats just my opinion

Forums of discussions where you can ignore any people with too dissonant opinions…

I feel there would be far less to learn from clicking on ignore. What would I gain from clicking on ignore except some ignorance based peace ?

I prefer to read people with totally different opinions and be upset than put them on ignore and risk to miss something interesting.

I suppose it depends on what we expect to gain from forums. Knowledge or social recognition. The two are okay, but not compatible once included the ignore option.

There's a good moderation job here IMO.

Most of the time, it's enough to just ignore specific posts or report them.

I'm mobile like 90% of the time. I'd give recommendations for fixes, but like a lot of you other folks, that'd undermine my professional work. Never work for free, etc.

Eh, I don't particularly like the redesign. Even mobile friendliness isn't enough, since even though I didn't like the old mobile site, but it's more important to have a working normal site than a working mobile site. The aesthetics are bad, and it doesn't sort by recent posts, so I can't tell what's old or not at a glance.

Hey folks,

While I'm  glad to see people are pleased that mobile access is working, I'm afraid this topic is not on topic here.  However, our intrepid Community Manager Trevor has created a thread for feedback, both positive and negative, where you can post comments here.

We really want to keep all the feedback in one place so we can be sure we see everything that concerns people.

I'm going to lock this up now. I look forward to seeing your feedback in Trevor's thread.

Thanks for you help!

Monica
