- Can you make it so that all the D&D forums use the same D&D background and theme? Right now, some of the forums use the Gleemax blue and green theme. I'm guessing this might just be temporary and will be fixed eventually; I just wanted to make sure.
- Having one enormous subforum called "Character Building" seems like a bad idea. It now contains 80,000+ posts, while the rest of the forums hardly have any. I think it should be split back up into the same subforums we had originally, or something similar. Maybe separate into Races, Classes & Powers, Skills & Feats?
- Now that Gleemax should be done with its alpha, can we start whining about old complaints again? ;) Can we have a "stay logged in forever" checkbox instead of "stay logged in for two weeks" checkbox?

This can be adjusted in your profile settings.

This has been discussed already. More forums will be created as Gamer_Zero sees need. Until then, CM was interested in starting with as few boards as possible. I'm lazy or I'd link the thread for you.

Do you use Firefox 2.x? If you do, go find an extension called Cookie Editor. Install it, then open it up and look for the only gleemax.com cookie set to expire within two years. Edit it so that it expires in, say, 2020. Problem solved. There's something similar for Opera, but I'm not sure what, as I don't use that browser. If you use IE...why?
Ah, I see, you have to edit the cookie manually. What I meant was that the forum itself should let you stay logged in. You shouldn't have to download a plugin and manually edit your cookie just to get the functionality that comes prepackaged in nearly every other other forum on the internet.

I disagree. The problem with letting people stay logged in full-time is that many, many people are incompetant when it comes to PC security. Better to at head off potential problems before they start, in my opinion.
Of course, in both Camino and Firefox, I've had no trouble with the cookie ever expiring, which could be a bug.
The blue+grey/white is a big improvement from the original Gleemax default of green+black, but that's not saying much-- most anything would be ;).
Since the forum reorganization seems to be a work in progress at the moment, I guess I'll just change the forum display defaults in my account options. It will be nice to get the defaults set however; fiddling with account options is sorta like having to do "paperwork", when all ya wanna do is read the paper ;).

Both can be found on the 4e forums. I've asked CM add a link to WaPtD, but they have a bad habit of ignoring me, so I doubt it'll get done.
With these forum mergers, which I concede may not be complete, we end up with posts that are inappropriate for the given rules versions and is just generally confusing.
Also, the "What's a DM to do?" seems to now be called "Dungeon Master Guidance." Personally, I don't like that name at all, despite any pun value it has. It just seems mildly insulting to me for some reason, like there is a correct answer you just need to see a tutor for.
I was all for some reorganisation, and I think (ducks head) it was time to close the CaC forum, but....what we have now is failure to communicate!
I want 4e & 3.x forums seperate - I keep getting confused and 4e thread seem to be squished off boards by 3.5e threads and people post mixtures of 4e and 3.xe answers to rules questions and......
*sigh* I've nothing against any ed of D&D, but I like to keep my flavours seperate. I like chocolate ice-cream and I like boiled fish - but I don't want to eat them mixed up together.

I think your reasoning for the name change is reasonable and well thought out. I like it better than the original.
I notice its been changed (again) to "DM Advice" (which runs with "Player Advice" of course). Did you lose a battle here, wrecan? ;)

Remove the left side sidebar menu (includes Mailing Lists, and other options) from any and all forums that cause viewing of the threads to be compressed on the screen.
There's a setting for this in your User Control Panel. Mine is set, and when I follow your link I don't see the menu.
To get to it:
My Account -> Edit My Thread Viewing Options
Scroll down to the "Thread Display Options" section, and in there is a sub-section labeled "Thread Display Options." The second option in that section is "Do NOT display extra columns in certain product areas (this setting doesn't affect the forum home page). " Check that box and save your settings. The menu on the left will go away.

Thanks, I prefer forums using PHPBB, so don't knoweverything about vBulletin. But this proves my point in anotther thread about knowing how to use the forums software by the users removes need for splitting/merging forums.
Am trying that option now to disable the sidebar menu.
I would like if either all the forums or none had the small picture beside them. It's kind of minor cosmetic, but they distract me from the forum names.
Try following the above info given to me but check the section "Do NOT display forum icons (this setting doesn't affect the forum home page)."
This removes the pictures other than "new posts" icons from the forums and makes for much better reading.
