So I noticed the last few times that I was in the OTT, that someone there seems to be rating almost every single thread in there(at least on the first page) as one star regardless of the thread's content. I don't know why, but it is getting on my nerves. I'm hoping that there is somethign that can be done to stop the action.

Nope. People just do that every now and then. The Thread Rating System is utterly pointless, anyway.

Sure there is. Remove the stupid rating system.

I notice there is not a rating option for this thread. Maybe that is characteristic of the Business Board? If so, then it is evidence that ratings is not integral to the code.

This. ^^

All the rating system does is get some peoples' underwear in knots over ratings they feel are unwarranted. An' that's utterly worthless.

It is an option that can be turned on and off for each board. IMO, it's not a useful feature for the discussion boards. It does have some merit on article boards like Redgar's Repository used to be.

It's a characteristic of the newer boards.

-Another vote for simply removing the system. I don't think it'll get removed, since it's fairly new in it's implementation, and it takes forever to get some of the most basic things done around here, but...

If you have a problem with how someone rates a thread then you could always rate it something else. They give it 1 star then give it 5 stars to that it averages to 3 stars.

It's a characteristic of the newer boards.

More specifically, I'm pretty sure it's a characteristic of all the new forums created by a certain former community manager.
