I had made a thread with a feature request in the character builder feedback forum, entitled "Feature Petition: Deity List Altered by Campaign Setting Restrictions" And it was quietly removed. No e-mail was sent telling me why, it wasn't locked or anything--it was just... deleted. It wasn't even a rude post or anything. It was just a polite, well-phrased short essay on my feature request, and a request for people to say if they agreed or disagreed. "What the heck" is the polite form of the phrase I have right now towards whoever removed my feature proposal thread and didn't even tell me WHY. The thread was formerly linked to here: http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?p=19214583 Not that it matters at this point. I guess Wizards isn't accepting feature requests, and is going to remove them if they're proposed? Pssht. What a great company. What the heck.
#2 misterfido_dup Aug 08, 2009 10:39:50	So... apparently, my feature request violated section six of the Code of Conduct: Do not disrupt chat, forums, blog comments or other communication channels. For example: Spam through repeated posts, or off-topic content by word or intent to forums or comments (scrolling, flooding, polling, or by "bumping" a post more than once in 48 hours) Make off-topic posts or chat or trades in the wrong forums or chat rooms (casual chat or roleplay in rooms or forums not designated for these types of activities) Advertise trades or sales outside of the designated areas Tell me, tell me, TELL ME how a post requesting a feature in the damn Character Builder Feedback forum is disrupting it? HOW IS THAT DISRUPTING IT? Isn't that what it's ****ing for? I'm providing feedback in that there's a feature that needs to be fixed, and it gets removed for disrupting the forum???
#3 Hocus-Smokus Aug 08, 2009 10:46:55	...and a request for people to say if they agreed or disagreed. Perhaps this is why. Maybe the mods saw it as polling, which still fits into the same section of the CoC.
#4 misterfido_dup Aug 08, 2009 10:54:09	Then we have an awesome community, where you're allowed to flame, belittle, and insult each other's editions with merely slaps on the wrist, if you get anything at all, but God forbid you should try to ask if people want to IMPROVE the product! That's worthy of being censored! Getting mocked and belittled for your opinions, the VCLs roll their eyes and say "Oh, you scallawags". But trying to inform WotC what the community wants... instant deletion. Or maybe my opinion is skewed, because of the number of times I've been insulted, insulted the person back, and I get banned while they don't. It would've probably taken whoever removed it just about as long to remove "Petition" from the title and my request for people to post their thoughts as it would've to delete a VALID IDEA. But whatever. I'll repost it, sans the Unholy Word, and see if it gets deleted again for presenting an opinion. People are STILL going to post their agreements or disagreements on the issue. But at least, Wizards will be able to pretend it's not a poll, because I didn't DIRECTLY ask for their opinion.
#5 mudbunny Aug 08, 2009 11:17:55	If you want it to not be deleted, the best way to do so is to frame it as a discussion. A poll/petition will get deleted by the ORCs pretty quick as it is framed in a way to *not* result in discussion. Only people chiming in to say yes/no. Discussions, OTOH, are perfectly acceptable.

#7 ace_of_time Aug 08, 2009 19:26:43	Why not just open it again and this time frame the question where it open the forum for to discuss that issue? That should be better. Also no hate speech will help and be careful on the title because some threads have been taken out just for the title without reading the content.
