I was lucky enough to have Tri-Pod land somewhere nearby.  The ill-named comedy trio (there were four of them on stage, so...) debuted their dungeons and dragons musical at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art a couple of weeks ago and it was awesome.  Unfortunately, I'm not sure where else it's playing.  I think they generaly play at the Sidney Opera House in Sidney.  So, if you're in Australia and you play D and D, I recommend checking them out.

Are you talking about Tripod an australian Comedy trio (yes there are only three of them), who sing about general nerdery and have shown themselves to have an interest in D&D a few times (just look at their website) in the past. You can find there song all about the topic at www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IgVPnhmVNE

Also just fixing up a few things (as an Australian I feel obliged to, sorry). Sydney is spelt with a y, and tripod are far too small to play at the opera house regularly, they generally play at moderate sized comedy venues.

Edit: Just had a quick look and Tripod vs the Dragon is by the same guys I mentioned above; you can find the trailer for it at www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjzI-3iDje4
Currently tickets are avalible for folks in Adelaide or Melbourne - blog.3pod.com.au/?p=53

Errors so numerous that they act as veritable proof that I don't work for Tripod's marketing!

Yes, that was them.  The show was incredible.  I think they probably should have sold tickets by order of height though.  We sat down in front of 2 12 year olds.  It was like putting ogres in front of hobbits.  Eventually, we switched our seating arrangement to make the show more kid friendly.

Or perhaps it's just a very cunning ruse... Can I roll an insight check?

Not to contradict you, but I think they are playing the Sidney Opera House later this year.  Go to www.sydneyoperahouse.com/about/program_s... .

Just FYI.  I'm in Massachusetts and pretty far from Australia.  Although, as it's 20 degrees or so here (Farenheit), does it count if I wish I were in Australia?

Oh I know they've played there in the past and will probably play there again, but it's not their regular showing grounds due to the sheer size of the venue; when they are there it's generally a "for one night" only type deal, where as other locations they might do a run lasting a couple of weeks.
But this is now very off topic with something that hardly matters, can we admit that either a) we were both kinda right (or right enough) and/or b) it doesn't really matter in the end?

Oh yeah, sure.  I just thought you'd like to know about them at the Sidney opera house in case you lived near it.
