I'm already a pretty avid Magic player, and am wondering how much it would usually cost to get into the game. Can you just play with pen and paper, or do you need the books and boards and dice to get the full expierience? Also, what's a usual game/session like? Is it long short, complicated, simple? Thanks guys. |

If you would like to try the game with no real monetary investment, WotC offers a set of Test Drive rules along with premade characters and a premade adventure. |

You can sometimes get someone to run a sample game for you to see how you like it, before making any big purchases. If you are going it alone, the test drive linked above is a great way to start out. Once you decide you want to stick with it, at least one person in your group should have a copy of the Dungeon Master's Guide, and the Monster Manual, and ideally, everyone has their own copy of the Player's Handbook. After that, get some dice, and you are well on your way. |
