I am not familiar with the term myself, but would like to know the answer.

My theory is that "scrolling" refers to filling a post with repeating text or empty space just to be annoying to other posters (forcing them to scroll down past it so they can read more). For example:

< ...large empty space removed by edit... >

Annoying isn't it? If this is what "scrolling" refers to, I can understand why it would be unacceptable.

... Please understand, I have only done this for demonstration purposes! I have no intention of disrupting the forums in any manner. I only want to visually demonstrate what I'm talking about.

This post will be edited by me (and the large empty space removed) as soon as it is replied to by the OP (or sooner), so as to not inconvenience others.

On second thought, it may also refer to repeatedly quoting an entire post when responding to it. That could get annoying after a while too.

No clue. Scrolling mean moving back and forth in one direction as far as a mouse wheel cares.

Maybe it is a typo and means trolling?

In the chat room, scrolling means constant typing to make the text scroll up making discussions difficult.

And so on.

While the boards are slower and have a post time limit, it's still possible to do. (Though the no bumping threads would most likely enter here.)

They should split it up so it doesn't have to be explained then and give sections for chat and another for forums.

If the chat never returns someone may wish to remove references of it in the CoC to clen it up a bit to prevent future confusion.

Thanks for explaining scrolling was referring to flooding chat channels.
