| #1jakelinocJan 29, 2010 14:15:56 | My friends and I just got back into D&D after not playing since high school(2nd edition). I've been tryinng fo the last week to get a DCI/RPGA card. I have visited or called all the shops in my area that they list as running D&D events to see if they have any DCI/RPGA cards. Most of them have no idea what I'm talking about. So I call customer no-service yesterday and ask how I can get one. He tells me to visit one of the stores or an event to get one, and give me a list of the same stores I have already contacted. I told him that didnt work. He then said I could email customer no-service, I said "aren't I talking to customer service now?" and he told me yes, but I need to email. So I email asking if there is a way I can get them to send me one. They respond with a link to the knowledge base article telling me to go to an event or store and mark the case as solved. What kind of idiots are these? What's the use of having an organization to support players if you are going to make it so hard to join that nobody can? |

Your thread title is bound to attract lots of hostile answers, even if your frustration is justified. It sounds like an attack against all WotC personel. If you change it you might get more helpful responses. You said most of the stores you contacted did not know what you were talking about. What about those that did? The only thing I can suggest is contacting stores even further away and see if you can get them to send you one. By the way what is a DCI or RPGA card? |

Also, you can join up with RPGA anytime you visit an organized event... there's no need to join up earlier than that. Your DM or Store will then give you such a card, or see that you get one next time. --- From your above communication I have to say: It comes as no big surprise to me, that the CS guy wanted to get rid of you. @Yaeri: the RPGA and the DCI are WOTC's organised play organisations, for D&D and Magic: The Gathering. You can play various magic tournaments all over the world with the DCI, and lots of different encounters in the Forgotten Realms, dungeon delves, gamenights (typically when one of the core 3 (phb, mm, dmg) books starts in its newest version - the next dnd gameday will be when PHB3 hits the shelves. ) |

I GETTING TIRED OF SEARCHING |
