| #2crazy_monkeyMay 09, 2012 14:38:06 | Howdy dave2008, As part of the D&D forums reorg discussed here, several forums have been, or will be, assimilated into 4E General Discussion, including the old Races and Monsters forum. All of the threads that were in Races and Monsters are now in General Discussion. Thanks. |
| #3dave2008May 10, 2012 5:50:35 | OK, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, this will result in those threads getting less notice I think as they quickly get pushed to the bottom of the pile. |
| #4alitainMay 10, 2012 12:42:54 | While I'm not thrilled about them doing away with the Races and Items forums considering there're four forums for D&D Next and there's basically no info for any of them, or real purpose yet. On the other side though, dave2008, while it's true some of the topics may have a harder time seeing the light of the first page, lets me honest. Both of those forums barely got any action. Every now and then someone would start a new topic or reply to one there but for the most part they just sat there idle. So while it is kind of a bummer getting lumped into General I doubt it'll make that much of a difference. |
| #5UndrhilMay 10, 2012 13:03:33 | So, the four Role discussion forums were also assimilated into General Discussion? That's really crappy. They could have at least made then sub-forums of it or something. |
| #6wrecanMay 10, 2012 14:34:51 | They're doing away with subforums for the most part. Although threads may get bumped off the first page quicker, I think more people wills e the threads in consolidated forums than saw them in specialized forums. Also, topics were getting spread out between these forums, Homebrew, and Rules Q&A. You can read about the ideas behind the merger in the Community Business forum in the stickied thread called Forum Reorganization. |

Alitain, I agree with your comments, it just wasn't how I used the forums. It is probably better as a whole, just not what I liked. No big deal. I actual remember reading about the change, but I completely forgot about and never made any comments about the concept - so I really on have myself to blame. I guess when I see "Monsters" as a specific DM centered issue that shouldn't be tossed in a general forum, but I never did express my opinion - shame on me |
| #8UndrhilMay 14, 2012 0:02:40 | Perhaps if the mods had made a broadcast about it before actually making the change (instead of making the discussion announcement and then waiting half a year...) it would be alright. But without any warning? Come on, guys. |
