| #2hellmuteJun 04, 2008 21:49:19 | It was the decision made by R&D. |
| #3OneWinged4ngelJun 04, 2008 21:56:31 | This makes zero sense to me. Think for a moment about the new direction 4e is going in, then see if it sparks a hint. ![]() If you still don't get it, think about what *other* forum setup it looks like. |
| #4Horus_SungodJun 04, 2008 21:56:45 | I suppose i will be easier to find a good build for the class you're looking for. Howerver, people will be more divided and won't contribute as much unless the look at all 5 forums. |
| #5the_ubbergeekJun 04, 2008 22:06:58 | WOTC forums's blue collars moving things around and changing the layout. Nothing more. |
| #6merrikcaleJun 04, 2008 22:29:45 | OK. When is FR getting more than 1 board? |
| #7hellmuteJun 04, 2008 22:37:28 | OK. When is FR getting more than 1 board? Okay, just looking over the list, here is where we currently stand: I bolded the answer for you. |
| #8gamileoJun 04, 2008 22:56:02 | OK. When is FR getting more than 1 board? I would imagine that the closer we get to the FR 4E launch, they will split off various forums for it. Until a month ago, there were only a handful of 4E forums and mostly 3E ones. Now its the other way around as they ramp up for Friday. I would say that come beginning of August you will see more and more FR forums popping up, and after Gen Con there will be a full plethora of forums for people to talk about the classes, the races, etc. |
| #9Seeker95Jun 05, 2008 7:04:08 | OK. When is FR getting more than 1 board? Why would a campaign setting need more than one board? Gone are the days when the Forgotten Realms got its own ruleset, so why would FR need a special board for magic, a special board for classes, etc? It only needs a single board to discuss the campaign setting. Perhaps, if FR really does get a lot of threads (that don't really belong on the Classes, Magic, etc. Boards) there could be a split to have one for geography and one for personalities, but seriously, the Realms is a single subject area. |

Gone are the days when the Forgotten Realms got its own ruleset, so why would FR need a special board for magic, a special board for classes, etc? It only needs a single board to discuss the campaign setting. There is a lot of activity there, which creates a problem for people, like me, who post there. Threads get lost quickly. If its a space problem, merge the Dragon and Dungeon thread since there is only a handful of active threads. Or merge some of the character boards. But why screw over the FR people |
| #11Seeker95Jun 05, 2008 11:48:19 | There is a lot of activity there, which creates a problem for people, like me, who post there. I'm looking at the front page (25 threads), and it looks like the only real problem is that normally associated with any transitional period.
Once posters become educated to the new 4e Boards layout and categorization (and once Realms fans come to the realization that the Forgotten Realms is no longer a different game), Realms traffic should drop by roughly 72%. More than enough traffic reduction for a single Board, dedicated to the campaign world, to handle. |
| #12vaalingrade_ashland_02Jun 05, 2008 17:46:38 | Someone up top absolutely hates the idea of a coherent layout and really, really wants Skills, Powers, Feats and Races to be dumped into a singular mess instead of rightly separated. |
| #13apollyonschosenJun 05, 2008 17:59:53 | Forgotten Realms has never had a seperate ruleset. Maybe Realms specific PrC's and a few other uniqe spells etc, none of which were incompatible with any 3,5 game. The similarity to the Warcraft forums is uncanny.Thats hilarious. |
| #14hellmuteJun 05, 2008 18:23:41 | The thing is that some people want a space for fluff and cruch seperate. Now since the Realms isn't exaclty a 4th edition setting and there is no previous edition forum for the Realms specifically it only makes sense to try to have some split, even though there will be 2 of each versions of fluff and crunch under the restructed Realms. |
